This was really disappointing because itโs so hyped up and I had to give it an extra star just because the idea is there but the execution is unfortunate. Maybe the breakfast is better? I donโt see the hype.
Pros: cool old growth cedars and garden, cute friendly cat, friendly emus and chickens
Cons: WAY overpriced and we waited twice as long as the lady told us, food wasnโt good- especially expensive garlic parm fries lol, sick & dirty chickens.
First off and most importantly, I suspect the chickens arenโt being cared for properly. It looks like a couple might have scaly leg mites, a couple seem to have a respiratory illness of some sort, dirty butts, and they have bantams with the rest of the flock that have quite a bit of missing feathers which is telling me theyโre getting bullied and should probably be separated or re-homed. Some of them look really skinny and I donโt think itโs because theyโre not feeding them, I just think those chickens are sick. @chickenschmidtfarms on TikTok has a poultry first aid tab with a comprehensive list on diagnosing and treating chicken ailments, you guys should check it out and please clean their butts (and figure out why theyโre getting dirty because thatโs not normal) before you have an infection or block on your hands, one of them isnโt walking right with the amount of poop build up, itโs really sad and a really simple fix. I donโt know anything about emu or goat care, I just have chickens.
The soft serve ice cream was definitely not anything special, it tasted like Mc Donaldโs soft serve. I got a medium sized one and it was giant so this is not that big of a deal I guess but it was hollow, Iโve just never had a hollow ice cream cone it was cracking me up.
I got the chicken burger and it had no flavor, just a dry piece of chicken- no brine or seasoning. The blackberry BBQ sauce tasted like blackberry jam, tomato unsalted and slimy, the bun was nice though. The โcaramelized onionsโ were barely sweat down, they were crunchy lol. I saw the goat cheese I think but I didnโt taste it.
The worst part of the food though was the garlic parm fries. The fries were nice themselves but they were covered with jar-lic, a dried italian herb mix maybe?, and cheap shredded parm (not grated) that wouldnโt even melt in the HOT chili when I tossed some in. Iโm begging you to just get a garlic parm seasoning and sprinkle it on it but for the price my expectation was fresh garlic/a nice powder and nice GRATED parm (the green can of cheap grated parm would even be better). Jar-lic is so gross, anything but jarlic ๐ $9 for an order of those is CRIMINAL.
The chili was really sweet and was missing a lot of flavor, honestly probably would make a huge difference if they just added more salt.
My boyfriend had the Whirly Burger, $18 for an unseasoned patty with no flavor.
The lady in the front was nice though. If I can figure out how to add photos and...
ย ย ย Read moreWe must have hit them on an off day. We went due to reviews, so many were raving about this place. It took a while to order, the group ahead of us took a very long time to get their order in. After they ordered and paid, the woman at the counter told them it would be about twenty five minutes.
We were ordering clam chowder, thinking that would be quick and easy. She also told us twenty five minutes. We thought ok, that might be good, it usually means fresher food, maybe they had just started a new pot of soup. Perfect timing, right?
My little cup of chowder was cold in spots, pieces of potato had the consistency of sawdust. It had just one large piece of clam, it was mostly potato and what I think must have been celery. The texture was really weird. My husband's bowl of chowder was lukewarm, but heated through. He had more clams and shared a bit with me. The flavor was good, but overall, it was so disappointing. We were really looking forward to some good chowder, as the reviews were so great. We won't recommend Granny's to friends and we aren't...

The window outside is for desserts. Order food inside. The prices are pretty high for the food. A burger and fries was $17.50, I paid $20 because I got sweet potato fries. The chicken strips were too done. Sandwiches and burgers were great. Soups were ok.
After you order, you seat yourself. You also have to clean up after yourself. They do bring your food to your table. Hardly worthy of a 20% tip. Tips should go to the cooks.
Ordered ice cream for dessert. Twist cones with sprinkles. And some without. The gal at the counter was friendly and helpful. Super knowledgeable. A+
We would stop back again. Maybe tomorrow. But might also try other places.
My kids loved visiting the animals out back. Our food took a while to be prepared so it was good to have something to pass the time.
**limited seating inside. There are tables in the second room and a few picnic tables out back....
