I lived on 7th street as a child and grew up on their boudin. The place has lost its charm and food has lost its quality. We visited yesterday on 3/16/25 to buy boudin. Upon entering, we were greeted with a "wall of thieves" sign along with grainy pictures of suspects. Welcome home.
Now onto what we came in for, boudin. This is my fifth trip within the last 7 years going back to Port Arthur to get Boudin. We keep hoping the boudin quality would somehow return but it keeps disappointing each time. Boudin rice is either mushy or uncooked. It was around 2PM and there was no hot boudin. The cook asked us to wait and she heated 4 links. This time, rice was mushy which I suppose is more edible than uncooked. The flavor is still there, which is good.
Shelves were empty and the freezers holding ice cream were out of order.

Read moreWent in to get two hamburgers and fries. One gentleman in front of me, placed his order. The one person behind the counter took two precooked patties out of a pan that was sitting on the grill and placed them on the grill then came and took my order. After taking my order she informed me it would be 20 to 45 minutes. I went outside, thought about what just took place and went back in and canceled my order. I have no idea how long the patties had been precooked and kept at an unknown temperature and then grilled again to be dried out even more. Did the fly buzzing around the counter find the patties? The lady putting lettuce onthe first man's hamburger buns was,t wearing gloves. Don't think I will...
