What a fantastic, small town, gathering hub! If you like to have a good time this is the place for you. Its loud and exciting with live music, summer time outdoor activities, the staff are always polite and happy to help, and the food although bar food is just fantastic! Huge portions, and great flavor... Can't ask for more than that. And of course being a small town bar, everyone treats you like family. So go gather up your husband's and wives, lasso the kids, drag out the grand pappies and grannies, pile up in the car and go have a great at CJs bar and grill!
UPDATE: The food has been really hit or miss lately. We ordered a Greek salad about a month ago and I swear it was the best we ever had, ordered one today, the greens were brown and wilted. Had absolutely no crunch to the and I'm pretty sure it was just all romaine lettuce tips. Beets were sliced super thin and tiny and the tomatoes had a bunch of uncut cores in it. We also ordered a couple burgers medium. They were dryer than the Sahara desert during summer solstice. Talk about welldone++++. Buns were soggy, lettuce wilted and dark green, onions were either really greasy or just dark Grey, cheese wasn't melted, no mayo or any sauces and the tomato slices were inedible due to the giant cores left in the slices. Homemade chips were burnt to a crisp and stale.. The curly fries and nacho cheese however were on point. All and all the meal cost $65 after tip... Absolutely not worth it. Probably won't go back to CJs for a good long while after this recent experience. And that truly...
Read moreAs an adult I never order a grilled ham and cheese at any eating establishment. That's something I'd make it home but not order out ... but then I ate a half of CJ's grilled ham and cheese that my mother had left over one day. I was hooked! Now it's like I'm addicted. There's just something about they're thinly shaved ham, they have two cheese options - I opt for both of them ... accompanied by their fresh cut fries, and oh my, it just seems illogical that a grilled ham and cheese sandwich could make me so happy... On a regular basis LOL. My only complaint about CJ's, I know high top tables are trendy, but I'm short and I hate them, there are only two tables that are standard height and they are larger ones. Since they are often occupied or I hate to tie up a large table for 1-3 people, I often just order food to go. The first time I ever ate there our waitress was awful. A zombie is more life like and would have had far more personality than our waitress. But aside from that first visit I have found all of the staff to be very pleasant weather dining in or getting an order to go. I don't know what his name is but the guy that regularly Works behind the bar has a perfect personality for his job. Great life advice... Try the grilled ham and cheese with both kinds of cheese at CJ's. It may not actually change your life but it sure make your mouth and...
Read moreWhen my husband and I are in areas that are new to us we like to try out different restaurant/bars etc. So we rely heavily on the reviews that are available of the places. Being out of towners, we searched for a place for some good food & beers. CJ's came up and after reading about it, we were excited to give it a try due to the high remarks it had received. We'll unfortunately it was not a welcoming place. When walking in, we were instantly judged. The bartender decided to mock us and thought he was funny to the delight of the locals/regulars at the bar. They enjoyed it, we did not! However as grown adults we decided to let the pettiness slide and at least see if it got any better. We ordered the poppers as an app and I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and my husband the southwest burger. Let me tell you the food was AMAZING though!! So if you're interesting in visiting this place and you want or are expecting great attitude and atmosphere, this will not be the place for you. Stick with take out. ...
