Cathy’s — Restaurant in Port Lavaca

We throughly enjoyed our meals here! We had shrimp cocktail, fried shrimp and fish plate, burger and child’s chicken strip. You will not go away hungry - plenty of food! It was hot and delicious!

The restaurant had been busy all day and 2 of the workers were out so they were doing the best they could. Salad bar was being restocked and tables wiped but you could tell they had been busy. There were some delays with ice but they worked at fixing the issue. We did get there around 8:15 pm and a lot more people came in after us.

My son is a full time wheelchair user and was not able to pull up at any of the tables due to benches being fixed and the end of the table having a support leg. They had picnic tables outside and we moved him to the bench there as his chair would not be in the way. We could have done this inside but it is small and his chair would have been in the way. We made it work.

Delicious! My husband and I visited POC fornthe weekend and his friends ordered the fried shrimp for us. The shrimp were butterflied thus deveined, as shrimp should be served. The next day, I had to have another fix so we went to the actual storefront. The staff was very friendly and the food was served fresh & fast. They have THE BEST TARTAR SAUCE! It's so good they charge 75 cents for an extra one. That means there's real love put into that recipe.

This place was highly recommended—and it didn’t disappoint! We got there just before all the fishermen rolled in, which was perfect timing. I had the grilled shrimp and fish combo with onion rings and the salad bar—everything was fresh and made to order. Others in our group tried the shrimp sandwich, fish sandwich, and hush puppies (which were beyond fantastic). Not a single bite disappointed.
