I came to El Ranchero Mexican Restaurant with my family, and we were absolutely blown away by the entire experience. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.

Now the food… absolutely incredible! Every dish we ordered was bursting with authentic Mexican flavor, clearly made with fresh ingredients and a lot of love. The homemade tortillas, savory salsas, and perfectly seasoned meats reminded me of the kind of meals you only get in a true Mexican home.

I usually order two different things at Mexican restaurants: Birria tacos and Chile Rellenos. These aren't commonly made well at most restaurants. This restaurant was two for two! They were both the best I have ever had. A place in North Carolina that recently closed used ground beef in their Chile Rellenos and it was in top place. Unfortunately it has closed and most places just put cheese on the inside and no meat. This place puts the most tender beef that melts in your mouth all over it!!! And the Birria Tacos were so full of meat and had the best dipping sauce. The rice and beans were also very good. The green sauce definitely adds a nice kick and the red moves it up another notch. I don't live far from the Port Royal location so my family eats here atleast once a week. The food is always really fresh & tasty!! They're a bit stingy with their chips when you order to go. Usually you get 1 small bag of chips for the salsa with your meals & another bag if you get cheese dip or guacamole but they only give you 1 small bag & charge you for the 2nd - how can I eat salsa & cheese dip with only a 1/2 a bag of chips?
