Tried this place, on my husbands lastest work trip to Port Sulphur, Louisiana. It was a quaint little family owned diner/bar. It reminded us, of that show "Cheers" where locals seemed to know everyones name. The food was excellent. My husband had the gumbo, that he really enjoyed. A work mate of my husband's had the frog legs, which he said were very tasty. I had some of the best hamburger steak I ever tasted and thats not an exaggeration. Since I love hamburger steak and mashed potatoes. I've had it at several restaurants, in several cities. I was expecting the usual ground hamburger formed like a steak. This was actually steak, and not ground steak either. I just wished this place wasn't almost to the tip of Louisiana's boot. I'd be going back often just for their hamburger steak and mashed taters !!! So yummy !! đ My husband also ordered a roasts beef po-boy for a later snack, since we went to dinner early that day. He said it was sloppy and good, just like he likes it. All in all, it was very clean, friendly staff, and the food was great. Would eat here again, if we ever down this...
Read moreMy husband LOVES seafood and this place was fantastic. It has a super laid-back family vibe directed toward the locals. The crab cakes were deliciousâmore crab than cakeâand the sauce for them was surprisingly amazing. Itâs a cheese and crawfish and crab beschamel-type sauce that is just divine. The onion rings were very goodâbattered not breadedâand the onion ring sauce made it amazing! My daughter even loved the chicken nuggets. The gumbo was also very goodâhigh meat/seafood to broth ratio! Prices are very reasonable especially compared to other Cajun restaurants in the NOLA area. Poâboys were about 5-10 bucks. Seafood platters were around $10-15. The seafood was directly from the water not even a few miles from the restaurant. If youâre in New Orleans and want to go on an adventure down the river, this is...
Read moreThis little diner is great. We were in the area and saw it on the side of the highway. The owner/chef is so friendly and willing to please. He has a "secret sauce" that is absolutely devine. He provided a sample of his sauce over crab cakes and we were in heaven! The wait staff was prompt and friendly as well. Our food was delivered hot and fresh. Atmosphere is casual and the restaurant is clean and well lit. The menu offers sufficient delectable seafood and cajun selections. There is ample parking and convenient to the highway. This little diner is a definite jewel, don't miss it. We visit the area once a year for fishing and will return here to have Chef Thompson cook up our fresh catch....
