Great Wall Express — Restaurant in Portage

I'll give it 3 stars because the food is always good, however my experience after picking up my food was quite disappointing to say the least. When I got in my car after receiving my food, I noticed my hand was wet. I also noticed the bag was a little wet. Not thinking anything of it, I pulled off and drove home. When I went to grab my bag out of the front seat, I grabbed it with 2 hands because of the wet spot on the front, lifted it up and to my surprise EVERYTHING IN THE BAG FELL OUT THE BOTTOM. Whomever the brilliant employee was that decided to put a pint of SOUP in the bottom of the bag and then shove 12 ragoons in 1 container and place it on top of the soup along with a pint of rice is a stupid. The ragoon box was so heavy it cut through the lid on the soup and it was slowly leaking out. I ended up loosing the whole pint of SOUP in my front seat. Then I got to get my egg rolls that where next to the soup in the bag and the bag riped from the weight of the egg rolls because the bag was soak with soup and they landed right on the floor. Y'all need to use PLASTIC BAGS FOR SOUP. And learn how to properly stack...

New management is ABSURD. DO NOT tell me it’s MY problem that YOU messed up my food not once but now twice. He was awful to work with and no sympathetic bone in his body. At least say “I’m sorry” or “how can I fix this”.

I placed a door dash order like I do 1-2 every week. The last week, it has been a new manager or whatever you would call him. I always call to make sure my “no soy sauce on fried rice” gets acknowledged. He said yes but it came with soy sauce not only the first time but the second time after calling to complain. They wouldn’t do anything at all to make it right or make it for it. Just kept telling me to hold bc he had other orders or to reorder and it’s not their problem.

I will absolutely go out of my way to find a different place that is anyway close to a sliver nicer or has ANY service experience ever. Cannot say one nice word about this new person and what he is doing to...

This place actually used to be good, I don't know what happened or if they are continually changing cooks but half the time I get food here it's pretty inedible... The other half its fine... But just today I ordered sweet-and-sour shrimp with fried rice and egg rolls... The egg rolls were the only edible portion of this meal the fried Weiss was so dry I just threw it in the garbage instantly... And the sweet-and-sour shrimp was also very dry because it was mostly temper batter and the shrimps themselves tasted off I've never had fishy shrimp before... Do yourself a favour and eat here out of necessity only there are much much better options including McDonald's quite frankly... At least McDonald's food is consistent and you know what...
