Pit's Cocktail Lounge — Restaurant in Portland

1st time for breakfast here. Prices are low and food was ...ok. not a huge choice for breakfast but I ordered sausage gravy over hash browns, half and order and it filled me up. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the waiter. Not friendly at all and if you asked for something you got a dirty look. Brought food and said TAKE THIS PLATE! was decent food but the waiter made us very uncomfortable by being so UNfriendly. We ate and left but had planned on having coffee with friends longer. With his attitude, we were ready to go. I'm sure other waiters there aren't as rude, but we got the one who obviously didn't want us there. So they're lucky to get 3 stars from me. Only did because I know other waiters are great there. Don't want to give a terrible review because of them. Otherwise they'd have got 1 star. Never had such an unfriendly...

This place was awesome. It was once said to me that "you know that you are a Hoosier, if you judge a place off of how good their tenderloin sandwich is", and as a lifelong Hoosier I can say without a doubt that this place has got it going on. The service was fantastic, the ladies working there were incredibly accommodating and kind. It was an awesome lunch, and the very next time I am in town I know exactly where I will be going to thrown on the ol feed bag. IF I had to find something to gripe about, it would be that it is a smoking bar. As a former smoker, I do not love the smell anymore. I had one of the best bar burgers I've had in years here. And the breaded mushrooms were perfect. It is a dive bar, so don't expect to get fancy drinks, but the pours are generous and the prices good, and the food is everything it needs to be and should be. It might not be what I want every night, especially if I'm feeling adventurous, but it is exactly what is claims to be, and very very good at being that. I can not recommend this place...
