Walked in. Nobody greeted. Was accustomed to the White House location where they either seat you are tell you that you can sit anywhere that you like. Approached the carry-out counter. Asked if I needed to wait to be seated or if I could sit anywhere. The young lady seemed as if she had never been asked that question before. She stated that I could sit wherever that I like, so I proceeded to head towards an unoccupied table. She stopped me and stated that I still needed to order at her counter. At this point I am wondering if this place is actually owned by the same people that own the White House location because I love that place! This place seemed like the twilight zone! I ordered and was told that I could not order my drink at her counter, that I needed to go to the bar area for that. I walked to the rear of the facility and entered the bar area. No one spoke to me as I looked at the drink menu. I decided to return my table in the dining area and wait for my food. I waited for approximately 40 minutes and decided to return to the counter and ask if I could get my food to-go instead. The same lady as before stated that she would add a note to my order. I returned to my table and waited another 10 minutes when I realized that I did not know if they would bring my food out or place it in the to-go pickup area. I went back to the counter to ask and they handed me one of the items on my order! I asked about the other as I did not even see it coming out of the oven. They stated that it would be five more minutes. To speed the story along…I waited 10 more minutes only to be told that it was never put into the oven. It is not hard to see that the break-down started when no one owned the customer as a waiter/waitress normally would. I give rave reviews for the White House location, but I refuse to believe that this place has the same owners. Completely different operational procedures. I very rarely review anyone on Google and it is even more rare that I give a negative review, but Google pushed a notification through to my phone asking for me to review...
Read moreMy husband and I found ourselves in the rare position of being kidless for the evening and decided to make a trip to Portland Pizza and Pub. We love the White House location but have never been to the Portland location. The experience was horrible from the start. No one greeted us, we had to ask if we should seat ourselves, the person seemed confused but then proceeded to tell us we could seat ourselves but needed to order with her first. After 45+ minutes of waiting for food we asked for it to go. Then 10 minutes later my husband was given my meal but found his to be forgotten. We requested to have the transaction voided since we had already paid. They only voided his meal. Mine, at this point, was cold and not what I ordered. The people were rude. Not once were we talked to; we had to address all workers first before they would speak to us. We even went to the bar to see what was on tap because we couldn’t order that with our pizza, only to find the people cold and unwelcoming in there, too.
We don’t typically do reviews but this restaurant messed up a night that is rare for us and we were shocked to find this! Please don’t bother with this location and go on to White House. The people are much more welcoming...
Read moreWent for pub night trivia and the place was experiencing some difficulties. I guess the trivia night that night drew a larger crowd than normal and only had three people waiting tables. The parking lot was jam packed but plenty of tables were available...
The sound system for the trivia was jacked, it evidently broke earlier that day. Despite being told you could hear trivia in the back room, you couldn't hear anything over the music being pumped in. There were three tables that came in 10 min after us in the back room and took multiple reminders to the hostess that none of the tables had water or and order taken.
Our food came out in fits and spurts, appetizers out after two main courses arrived, my meal came out after two reminders and the rest of the table was ready to leave. My meal of boneless wings was luke warm, how is that even possible with it coming out last and late? Steer clear of the jalapeño popper pizza, it doesn't quite live up to it's namesake.
All in all, it was a good night. Could have been a great night but I guess we caught them unprepared with our...
