This place definitely has some ground to make up. I respect that this is a new location working out the kinks, but I was very disappointed in my experience.
I was going for a work meeting. I called ahead and was told that they didnt take reservations for lunch but that they are not busy at all. I showed up ahead of our party so that they could set up the table. Upon my arrival, I was not greeted. The hostess just stared at me. She was helping a couple place a to go order... but a simple "welcome, I'll be with you in a second" would have been fantastic. It took her 7 minutes to place and ring up the to go order. At that point another part of our party showed up and she finally acknowledged me with a head nod (rather than an, "I'm sorry to have kept you waiting"). When I told her our group would be 7 total she tried to stick us outside in the 87 degree weather. We are a bunch of women in suits. So we politely declined. She then hesitantly asked us again how many people there would be and rolled her eyes when I confirmed that there would be 7 of us. She went to set up a table. I would like to point out that about 5 other staff members walked by while I was waiting but none stepped in to help. Definitely need improvement to front of house. A smile would go a really long way....
Appetizers. The server was friendly enough and the appetizers were very yummy. The onion rings definitely reminded me of the old Ringside onion rings. The cajun tots smelled very cajun and were perfectly cooked. This is the only reason that they dont have 1 star.
Lunch. Our party ordered a variety of burgers, sandwhiches and salads. I ordered the mac and cheese with brisket. This (in my opinion) is a really easy way to judge a restaurant. The bowl was HUGE almost as if they were compensating. Which they were. The cheese sauce was grainy. It was almost like those dipping sauces you get with a pretzel at a ball park. I was actually annoyed to find long 4 inch pieces of unmelted parmesan mixed in. This is texturally unpleasant and grossed me out. Honestly, this is a rookie cooking mistake as parm melts differently than other cheeses. Unless this was intentional?! The brisket was dry and I had to dip it in the cheese sauce to even be able to eat it. Nobody was thrilled with their food.
What's worse is that a few of us started feeling ill a few hours later. I was sick to my stomach until about midnight. Upon arriving at work today, I was informed that several other coworkers had similarly upset stomachs all night long.
Brews and appetizers? Yes. Lunch or Dinner? Not until I see some legit changes to...
Read moreSee old 3 Star review below. Upgraded review edit- Tried it again for lunch. Ordered ahead to avoid app. Tasty smoked half chicken w Carolina bbq sauce. Truffle fries and a couple pints. Played some games after. Much better visit.
Old review: I really wanted to give this place a great review, but my visit was sub par. It is one of the few quality spots in my hood and I have a gotten a pint of brew here numerous times and wanted try the food. You don’t really get table service here due to all ordering taking place through an app (cutting labor costs?). So nobody came and checked how the food was or if we got our orders correctly. I ordered a double cheeseburger burger that came on a toaster oven tray. I asked (or checked the box in the app) for blue cheese on the burger and got like 2 tiny crumbs of blue cheese, I also requested no tomatoes and got tomatoes. The burger was tiny, smaller than the bun.The truffle fries were tasty but a small portion. I was informed I got the last burger and that they were running low on ketchup?! The place had empty tables. It was Father’s Day, how do you not expect a crowd and run out of burgers? Since an app is used to order nobody came to see if we needed a to-go box or wanted dessert (probably need to use the app). My kids cheese pizza was lackluster, fortunately my wife liked her salad. They do have a game room with darts etc. Since it is the only brewpub for miles I will be back for a beer (s) (which are excellent), but not sure if I will bring the family for dinner again. Fireplace is nice though. Actual table service would make a massive difference. When your order is not correct or there is no water at your table (went and got some), are you supposed to message your server through the...

Went on a weekend afternoon, was ignored for a few minutes before being told to wait in the other room. About 10 min later, I had to run down an employee to ask if there was a list or line or anything to indicate we were waiting. He apologized and asked if we’d been told about the limited menu (we hadn’t), basically the kitchen only was making certain pizzas and it’s been like that for weeks. After being told it’d be at least another 20 min and they weren’t going to be able to make what we wanted that was POSTED ON THE MENU, we took our names off the list immediately. The server was very understanding and told us it’s been a constant problem and most people do the same thing. I felt awful for their staff but it’s shocking to me that there’s been no effort to fix this despite the bad reviews on Google having a response from corporate apologizing and promising to do better.
After a long internet dig into this company, it sounds that the food is/was great and people used to love coming here. But in the last 6 months at least, my experience is inline with dozens of others and spans across all their locations. The company is owned by someone who is a VP in a different industry and clearly not involved. It’s incredibly disappointing that the management has let their staff face such embarrassment. I’m typically lenient about being short staffed but this restaurant can’t possibly use that as an excuse. If the kitchen can’t handle the food orders, change the menu. If there’s not enough waiters, have a clearly communicated greeting/wait list. It’s such an embarrassment for the community.
Can’t comment on the food or beer since I...
