Wings and Rings — Restaurant in Portland

My husband and I were staying at the Holiday Inn (directly behind wings and rings and obviously the only food option for indoor dining within walking distance) Thursday evening dinner service the bartender (Jen) was very attentive, aware and all around kind. Friday night dinner the bar tender who's name we never did get didn't acknowledge us other than sliding a coaster to us while she finished her conversation from one end of the bar to the other with another employee. The entire time we were there she had her back to us and we had to scream "ma'm" when we wanted something. Then after we finally got to order, the looks and seemingly disgust and push back we were met with from her forced us to just ask her to make our food to go, only drank the one drink compared to the several the evening before as we only had to walk to the hotel. After asking for the food to go and I even told her she looked like we were causing her to have the worst day possible. Or, maybe she was having a really bad day. I was trying my besst to lighten the mood just enough for my husband to enjoy his mean. That did NOT happen. She was so incredibly rude for the position in which she had been given. We didn't spend near the money Friday we wanted as we really felt unwelcome and certainly not a priority to your business or your employee's time. She should NOT be your front person. The kitchen help also made an appearance and we spoke to her and she made absolutely zero comments just rolled her eyes. It was a horrible experience. Following a really enjoyable evening at the same seat the night before. We are in town for 3 more days. Need suggestions for another place to eat each day. The food was really good. This evening my mother and I had wanted to stroll down memory lane. Thus, we decided to go to the Portland, IN Buffalo Wings and Rings; we had not been there for a while. They were very busy, but they got us seated quickly; maybe too quickly. We were sat at a both (as requested) but it was uncomfortable and the table was dirty. We were then moved to a table and we ordered our food. The wait for our chips and salsa was fine, but the salsa was bland and left an unpleasant taste in my mouth. Next, we got our salads, mine was fine, but my mother commented that her’s tasted weird. While eating our salads, the servers kept trying to give us other people’s food. When they brought out what was supposed to be ours, my mother got a sandwich, when she had thought she was getting a regular plate of food and I was given a fish fillet instead of a basket of shrimp and fries, that I had ordered. They were kind enough to write off one of our items and gave us a discount. Everyone was kind, on both sides; no harsh language was used and no crazy fight broke out like you see all over the internet. I’m very pleased with that aspect of our visit, but the food and the table situation just ruined the evening, not to mention some fond childhood memories. I will say, that I will never again pay my own money to eat...

Was seated right away and our drinks orders were taken immediately. I even ordered and App and received it within 5-8 mins. Food was wonderful and honestly I’d give a 5 star rating had it not taken them forever to allow me to pay. I got my bill and a to go container and walked up to the register to pay cash. Stood there for what seemed like forever but was probably 10-12 mins. There were 3 ladies family side and a guy bar side. The guy couldn’t see me so he gets a pass but the other 3 ladies including one who I believe was the supervisor looked at me in the eyes multiple times but never came over to allow me to pay Waitress never said pay at the table was my first thought and it was pretty obvious I needed to pay. There was a guy waiting behind me to be seated as well. Overall the food was great and the service up to the payment was excellent but as they keep looking at me while I waited to pay I felt like they were avoiding the work.
