Hwy 270 Grill — Restaurant in Poyen

First time in this place, service was ok. They took our order (by memory alone) asked for bbq nachos, they didn't serve that but yet it's listed on the website! So I was offered a bbq baked potato that had pork, butter, cheese, bbq sauce, sour cream, baked beans and slaw. I said that was fine! Just hold the baked beans. My husband ordered the fish, fries, baked beans and hush puppies with an appetizer of loaded fries. Everything come out at the same time, even the appetizer. My potato was loaded...with baked beans. I politely told them it was wrong, I had ordered everything on it except the beans. She took it back, fussing in the kitchen about the mess up and the waitress told her I had ordered it without the baked beans. The other waitress brought my food back out to me, asking me if that "looked" better?! Umm, no...it was a potato with meat only on it! It had nothing else on it at all. Being the person I am, I told her yeah and eat it. The hush puppies were over cooked and raw in the middle. How does that happen you might ask... They were deep fried quick. This left them crunchy as could be but raw in the center. Our total, even after being discounted for everything missing on my potato was $33.90. My husband being a veteran got the 10% discount on the total which brought it to $33.10!! Wow! I am not looking for anything free and don't want or expect anything free. In a case like this, I would simply ask that the employees be retrained and shown how to properly wait and serve their customers. We were extremely disappointed in the service...

Some of the BEST food we've eaten in a while. We were greeted immediately upon arrival and had drinks very quickly. We chose the onion rings for the appetizer, and it was a win! How in the world do they make these onion rings and this batter?? They were incredible. Main dishes ranged from ribeye steaks, chef salads, and chicken wraps. All were very large portions with plenty to share. We should have started with dessert, so be sure to save enough room for the banana parfait and the Oreo parfait. We couldn't stop until the desserts were done... And now we're home, and we're hurting. We'll definitely be back and bring others to try something else great and filling. My wife and I went to eat there on a Tuesday evening. It did appear to be busy but I was disappointed with the service and food. My wife’s food was fine though. The young lady took our order and brought us our food and she never came back to our table again. A young man did however stop by on more than one occasion. She seemed to know a family who was in and spent most of her time at their table. Maybe we just came at a bad time and may try them again but the first visit did not go well. I ordered their Catfish which was extremely salty and I like salt🤷‍♂️. Like I said maybe just...
