Some seriously good Mexican food from a small drive-through/take out restaurant. You can call in an order for pickup. You can use the drive through or you can walk up and order from the take-out window. There are a couple of picnic tables, in the shade, overhead ceiling fan. There's a nice sink/faucet/soap outside to wash your hands. We had the carne asada burrito, nachos, and pollo flautas. Wow. I'll bet everything was prepared (including preparing the veggies) after we ordered. The burrito was nice and hot, grilled onions and cheese mixed in with beef. Good beef/not stringy or cheap cut. The flat plate was great. Generous portions of fresh lettuce/tomato/avocado, beans and rice. And the nachos were also very good. Covered in veggies and jalapeños, with sour cream on the side. I'd stop...

This is not an inside restaurant. One orders and eats outside, they have a few tables, or takeout.

On our way from Big Bend Ranch State Park, from a day of hiking and driving miles on dirt roads, to our hotel we stopped for dinner.

Wow, phenomenal food. I had the Chili Verde con carne my husband had the Carne Asada and Chile Relleno Burrito. He described it as a Portillo's Beef with sweet pepper adding chihuahua cheeses and the tortilla made de exceptionally good. I hope te reader knows about Portillo's. Because I do not eat carbs my Chiki Verde was served with lettuce and avocado salad. The Chili verde was very tasty, had a kick, and the carne was tender and savory.

So glad we stopped 5 minutes before closing. Good job El...

Five stars for the best limonada (lemonade) that we ever had. Freshly squeezed, each serving made to order, superior to any bottled or from frozen concetrate limonada. Excellent asada tacos and salsa verde. Beans and and rice excellent too, must be homemade, nothing like standard restaurant fare. Take out - Para leverage only, but nicely kept and wonderfully clean shaded outside dining area with nice sink for handwriting. Really friendly owners! Wish they hadn't been sold out of the asada verde or chile relleno; I bet they would have been very good. We just arrived too late in the day. Really nice...

The park ranger at Fort Leaton recomanded we try this place and said it was also dog friendly. This place is absolutely delicious, the customer service is great, the tacos, Jamaica and horchata were amazing. We definitely recomand El Changarrito to anyone that likes authentic Mexican food and it’s in the area. Our huskies also enjoyed resting here

Picnic tables under an awning so nothing fancy. The alambre burrito was filling and awesomely good! Red salsa was unusually tasty and spicy. I would eat lunch there once a week if I lived in Presidio. Two different local cop cars stopped for takeout during our lunch...always a sure sign of good food at reasonable prices.

Excellent authentic Mexican food after a long day of hiking in Big Bend. I had the Chili Relleno with Carne Asada. My wife had the brisket taco plate. Add on two hibiscus teas and it made for a phenomenal lunch! This is now our go to stop when you leave the park.
