My wife and I arrived for a weekday lunch. Friends that had visited before us claimed the prices were high and so did another online reviewer but I found the prices quite decent and perfect fit for the quality of the food. The margherita pizza was delicious with fresh mozzarella and basil. My wife had the fried eggplant/honey sandwich which she raved about. Both of us had a mug of Peroni on draft which was great because I never have been to a place it was served draft. Now my few complaints. The service was terrific insofar as our waitress was super personable and friendly. But her and I noticed several of the other staff were still in training so things were rather slow. Our food sat on the counter at the kitchen and neither our waitress, who was working on how to work the register, nor the three cooks who didn't appear to speak English made any attempt to get the food to the table so it was colder that usual. My wife ordered a dessert and was told it wasn't available because the espresso machine hadn't arrived. Her request for gelato was also denied because..well..they just didn't have any. So my question is why not make note of this on the menu beforehand? But four stars. Five if those issues were corrected by I chalk this up to a new place working on getting the kinks out.
