Was on the way home from a Marketplace pick up, wishing there was some place I could stop for a coffee and yummy treat, and lo and behold, what do I drive by but a lovely looking bakery/cafe out in the boonies- Mountainside Bakery and Cafe. Located inside a beautifully restored mansion from 1903, it oozes charm and a lovely, cozy atmosphere. I had an apple cider muffin and a latte and was ready to go eat in my car until I poked my head around the corner and saw lots of seating, with beautiful views and a fireplace merrily burning as the centerpiece of a well designed room. Yes, I did put that much hot sauce on the Mac and cheese and proceeded to eat all of it. Was it amazing? Yes. Did it give me a little heartburn? Also, yes. Thatâs why I keep the Tums on deck. My only complaint is they were out of focaccia when I arrived, but that was only about 30 minutes before the kitchen was scheduled to close on one of the busiest days of the year and focaccia is awesome so I understand how that could happen....
