Spud Hut — Restaurant in Princeton

A cute, family owned hole in the wall place that most might overlook. I was extremely impressed by the staff...all young people on the Saturday we were there. They were all filled with smiles, professional, polite and very friendly...something missing from many young people these days! And they truly seemed as if they were having a great time at work.

The food...well, the price for what you get is absolutely amazing! Under $7.00 for a potato so loaded it was unbelievable! I had the Chicken Queso potato and it was okay. The potato was very large, cooked well and tasty. The shredded chicken was juicy and had a great flavor! There was a TON of it...really TOO MUCH. Didn't think I'd ever say that about food!! The queso was rich and made the meal very heavy...also topped with sour cream, butter and green onion. Personally, it needed way more green onion and something to break up the heaviness like tomato. My boyfriend had a potato loaded with chicken and pulled pork barbeque and he didn't care for it much at all and he loves his food. The barbeque was less than okay...dry and overcooked. It was later in the day when we went and since the chicken was so good, I will give Spud Hut the benefit of the doubt and say we probably got the last of the pork.

If you like a stick to your ribs, heavy, flavorful meal, check them out. The dining area isn't fancy or sparking clean so if you're a picky person, this isn't the place for you. I don't know who or why anyone would rate these guys a 5 star. My first time ordering (I order delivery to Toyota) I got mushrooms on someone else's order. We both had a upset stomach afterwards as the breaking on the mushrooms were not good. I placed another order a few days later because I give everyone a second chance but I didn't have much better of an experience. Not only was the food not very pleasantle but they told me I had to make a $20 minimum order plus the delivery fee. Okay? What would I do with so much food! The mozzarella sticks are very dry and old, the nachos were soggy and of course they forgot my drink! They were supposed to come back with it but an hour and a half later I still don't have my drink! I called them about it and they told me they'd tell the delivery driver. Well....an hour later and still no drink! Hmmpft. Never will I ever order from this...

Not impressed at all. The staff need to be replaced, very unprofessional. I will not come here again. The credit card machine was on the fritz so they were writing down the CC numbers, and exp dates on a piece of paper to run through later. This is a bad idea on so many levels! Plus i tried to order 2 different potatos, and they were out of the main ingredients on each option. No happy, and will not recommend to anyone I come in contract with.
