Parking is first come, street parking is very limited. There was a waiting line but not super long since we got there and a lot of bikers were leaving. The service was ok it is understandable there are two floors to this place and it was super busy. I ordered chicharrón de pollo with mofongo and salad on the side. It took at least 45 minutes for my food to get to me. They had said sorry it took so long the mofongo is made fresh on the spot. I personally know it does not take that long but I do understand the kitchen being busy with so many orders. This is open air so it was very hot a ceiling fan or two on the walls would be nice. The mofongo was ok had good flavoring and the chicharrón was crispy and juicy the salad was ok the portion are small. My sister ordered an octopus salad with tostones which was amazing came in a bowl with maybe 5-6 tostones and salad again small serving. The food is not the worse it’s not the best. It is ok although my sister has been there before and mom and said their chuletas Kankan is the best. I’ll have to order next time. The best thing is the view it is absolutely breathtaking a million dollar view. They had live entertainment which was amazing. The view and entertainment makes up for the long wait and the small portions. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Will...

Adding to this post since they decided to reply by implying that only 4 pieces of meat were returned ... We returned an entire 2 plates of burnt meat and a whole side of sweet plantain plate was exchanged because it was so burnt it looked like the freaking burnt fried meat!! It's no wonder we saw that the place wasn't as full as all the other restaurants on our way there .. rest assured this will never be our stop or anyone I can save from going to this place... And the way you handled the situation seeing the plates full of meat taken away, acting with a snotty attitude does not get your customers returning... Ive been in the Hospitality Service industry for 30 yrs, your attitude does not reflect good...

TLDR: Cool place but manager held us hostage

Nice atmosphere. The young lady serving us was very nice. My meal came after 40 mins and shared it with the table. Server kept telling us 5 more minutes for the other meals. 1hr+ in, we decided to go downstairs and get the check - we had an appointment in SJ we couldn't miss. After trying to hand my card to the staff, they refused to take it and ran into the kitchen disappearing for 5 minutes. Politely explained to manager we couldn't wait longer, but he wouldn't let us pay. Stood at the bar waiting for 10 mins and they brought a PLATE of food out to the bar. We said fine: pack it up. Manager finally let us pay and also charged us for the third meal that didn't come out. I asked the manager if he thought this was the right way to handle the situation. The beautiful reply I received was: "You think you're the only customer?"

I recommend any other spot...

First visit in my Saturday’s of “Chinchorreo”. Heard good things about this place. Immediately go to the roof terrace to see the magnificent view of the mountains it’s amazing!!. The staff is young and friendly they help us to understand the menu. Started with the coconut mojitos although was beautiful presented have to say is one of the best that I ever tasted. Later I order the signature dish of the house the “Caney rice” a combination of meats (paella style)was very delicious. The other orders all were very good. At the end we spoke with the owner who amicably explain to us the history of the place and how he build the metal sings, the stairs and the roof top. Is a highly recommended place to spend an afternoon with friends and family enjoying good food and amazing views of the mountains of this beautiful island 🇵🇷

We went to this Restaurant after a long trip from the eastern part of the Island, we were going initially to other famous restaurant, but it was extremely busy, so we found El Caney nearby, and we decided to try it. We were so delighted surprise, the parking was easy, the waitress was extremely nice and friendly (her name was Nila), she went out of her way to accommodate our party of 13 people; the view from the balcony was beautiful, and the food was excellent. Although it took a while to get our food (they were busy) the restaurant owner apologized personally, and in compensation, offered us free shots of local pitorro alcohol, so in the end the wait was worthwhile. Normally I don’t review restaurants, but this place deserves a 5 star review, especially due to the people and wonderful environment that offers.
