I have mixed feelings about this place. I’m just not a sausage person. I can’t understand what all the hype is about. Beautiful view and hyper local spot. Packed with line out the door. Heavily frequented by locals. Used to be owned by Dona Maria, you can see her large beautiful home from the restaurant. Not sure what happened to that family. Anyway she sold and now it’s named La Sombra. Everyone I know constantly brings me to this place and I can pass honestly. My family is quite old so i think they still think it’s Dona Maria. Back then they had large family plates and rice that was out of this world good with sausage and beans and all mixed meant to share. Now we go in nov 2018 and everything is a la carte. No family style dishes for large groups. The sausage was dry and hard and food and drinks take forever to come to the table. They only have bottled beer, hard liquor and soft drinks no wine??? No draft beer. Bunch of GMO beeer you find anyhwhere. You pay at the cashier not at the table and you have to make a line to pay and then another line if paying with card. Very disorganized and slow. They serve you in styrofoam plates which is an Abomination for our ocean and our planets. Plastic utensils! More plastic and more garbage. My dad just told me the kids own it now so I don’t get it. If you are young and serving in plastic/ styrofoam plates and stuff, shame on you. You should know better. I prefer to frequent restaurants that reduce waste and care about protecting our beautiful ocean and marine life and our beautiful Puerto Rico. Food is really a 3 it’s ok not bad but they get a two because of the styrofoam and the plastic utensils. Freaking sucks. What am I having a picnic? No thanks. Hire a dishwasher for God’s sake I bet it’s less than plastic plates and utensils purchased and healthier for...

We went to Doña Maria’s on Friday night of Valentine’s Day unfortunately they weren’t taking any more reservations but we went anyway with the chance that a table for six would open up at some point around seven. We were greeted by Pedro at the door who kindly took her name and I informed him that we were traveling with my niece who had a walker and we needed space for her to be comfortable. He immediately offered a table Located on the patio. The patio wasn’t open as it was sprinkling outside. But there was an area with cover that was perfect for us we sat down and ordered the ceviche and breaded shrimp as an appetizer we had the fish special the shrimp in garlic the Churrasco the fried pork and everything was absolutely delicious and the service was attentive the food came out on time our server Maria was pleasant and extremely attentive- we had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to come back again. Pedro told us that they have live music from Thursday through the weekend looking forward to our next trip thank you for a...

At my arrival the place was packed, don’t know if it was because the holiday but the place can’t get more crowded. They sit us right away. Just the smell of the food on the table behind us make my mouth water, literally I was dripping saliva I had to get a napkin to clean myself. Wen the food arrived I knew it will be amazing. Not only that the staff is super humble, kind and sweet the food is out of this world. The view so pretty, there’s so many things that makes this place one of the best, if I could give it more than 5 stars I will. So sad that I came here the day before my departure, otherwise I’ll drive again the almost 2 hours just to get this delicious and super organic food. Next time I come to Puerto Rico this is going to be the first place I’ll...

Todo Bien! This gem is up in the mountains with a beautiful view, refreshing breezes and tasty cuisine! I enjoyed the garlic chicken breast with yucca fries and a cheese flan. Que rico!!!

I’ve been coming here for years now. My best advice, come during the week. Weekends are crazy in this place. Expect long lines, lots of noise, tons of people (mostly locals) and the typical PR weekend ambience. So perhaps weekend is the time to visit for some. Food is always solid with tons of local flavor. The longanizas are the stapler of the place and you should have all the flavors available, yes there are many from chicken to pork to tripleta. Try them all. Parking is challenging. They do have enough space to accommodate groups although that could also be challenging at times. Overall, great place, just visit and enjoy.
