I had not been here in years and was in the area and decided to stop by because my wife had never been. Needless to say I was highly disappointed and will probably never be back. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and told to sit wherever we liked. Waitress showed up promptly and took our drink order but then it became very hard to get her attention when my wife wanted her drink changed to something else. She finally came back and took our order and swapped the drink with no issues. When our food came we realized we hadn't been given any plates so again tried to find our Waitress but couldn't and ended up having to walk to the front and ask for some. The place wasn't super busy so that wasn't the issue. The garlic cheese bread was good but as we ate it we agreed that it was a small amount for the price. But once we started on the pizza thats when our total outlook changed. The crust was bland and borderline overcooked, the sauce had virtually no taste and the cheese and toppings had a very odd after taste that reminded me of a frozen pizza, like they had been thawed out. My wife wasn't able to finish even one whole piece. It was very very disappointing for sure. I had heard the prices had went up and the menu confirmed that. Growing up Jo's was always a treat to get to come too and to see and taste the difference in quality was kinda hard. I hate to give such a low review but I just didn't enjoy my visit or the...
Read moreI would love to give Jo’s Pizza atleast 4 stars because, although the pizza is greasy it has a great taste with the right amount of cheese and toppings. The reason I can’t give this anymore stars than 2 is due the atmosphere of the entire place. Some of the waitresses and cooks are good. Always happy to help. But, the manager (possibly owner) comes off as a creep and very rude to his employees. Most times I’ve been around him the entire vibe he gives towards his employees and customers is just.. bleh.. it truly breaks my heart because Jo’s used to be ran by the friendliest people.. Rodney’s was definitely my go to when he opened but, I always gave Jo’s another try and while the pizza rarely disappointed the toxicity of the people running it is making it harder and harder to come back.. not to mention whoever the disrespectful person running their social media is .. It truly blew me away to see them make a post on FB and post pictures of a woman’s Facebook over a negative review trying to “call them out”… I’ve never once heard of them taking constructive criticism and only playing victim and then tearing down and even degrading an unpleased customer.. I don’t know, I do enjoy Jo’s Pizza but, it’s almost worth driving to Maysville and eating at Baker’s… he learned from Rodney as well. Give it a try though.. it is good food.. Maybe others can tolerate the horrible management...

Those who know me know I'm a fan of Canadian Bacon.. If it is available, it is a key ingredient on any pizza I might order..
I happened to be in Purcell for a church event tonight and needed to feed the fat kid so I ambled over to Jo's Famous Pizza, fully intending to get a small-ish pie covered in pepperoni and Jo's signature shredded Canadian Bacon..
As I perused the menu, I noticed they offered a Canadian Bacon deli sandwich, served on fresh French bread, oven roasted, and topped with mozzarella cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo.. Served with chips.. I decided to give it a try..
Let me just say that my first bite took me to a decadent, Canadian Bacon infused heavenly place.. This sandwich was stupid good.. Fresh from the oven and piping hot, the shredded goodness fused with the melted mozzarella, and served with perfect slices of tomato, a layer of lettuce, and just a touch of mayo that didn't take anything away from the primary ingredients.. And the French Bread had a nice crust while the center was still soft.. Oven-roasted sammich perfection!!
I can see another of these in my near future, and it was perfectly sized, so it wasn't too little or too much..
This sammich just gives me another reason to visit Jo's...
