Despite living in Michigan for the first 18 years of my life, I never found myself in Hell until recently.
We drove up from Tennessee to visit family near Flint recently.
For years, my son has said he wanted to visit Hell, Michigan, on our next visit, so we carved out some time on our trip to go to Hell.
Although it's a "blink and you'll miss it" kind of spot, there is a certain novelty and charm to the place. Obviously, there are plenty of opportunities to take pictures to show everyone that you've been to Hell.
The Screams From Hell Gift Shop and Creamatory were the standouts for me. They have a ton of souvenirs that you can pick up to show you've been to Hell and back. I got one of their poker chips, and I picked up a few postcards, too.
You can actually mail your postcard from the store, but I opted to hold onto mine as a keepsake. Now, you do have the option of getting your postcard stamped and burnt. Yes, I said burnt. I stood in line and watched the woman at the register take a lighter, hold it up to my postcard, and proceed to burn markings on it as if I had just returned from the actual fiery inferno.
Don't pass up on the Creamatory while you're there, either. I got a single-scoop cone of their graham cracker-flavored ice cream, and it was fantastic.
Oh, and you can actually be mayor of Hell for the day.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Again, it's not a big place, but we had a blast. I'm glad we made time in our short vacation for a brief...
Read moreYvonne Williams was really nice and she was a pleasure to speak with on the phone, as I scheduled an event for myself and my wife for Friday, December 11, 2020. We are both from Ohio and have medical conditions that prevent us from wearing a mask. She was very nice and told us that she understood and that she could accommodate us still... we started shopping and picking out gifts but then a very rude man by the name of John came in and rudely asked us to leave, I do not recommend going here any more by anyone... and I will tell everyone I know that this is not a very friendly place even though it’s a joke and to boycott this business that is discriminatory towards the mentally ill... we need not show our Medical Letter of exemption because it would be a violation of our HIPPA Rights... this is an absolute disgrace to the people of Michigan and the United States itself... My life has already been ruined by this COVID-19 scam... He not only ruined my vacation with my wife, this so called John has ruined my 12 year old step daughters holiday gifts... Granted I have been here before and enjoyed myself but this COVID 19 has destroyed formally good businesses... due to the scare of fines the businesses face for people not wearing masks is a...
Read moreIve been before and it was GREAT! I bragged it up to my friends and convinced them to come on the hour and a half car ride and this time it totally sucked. The ice cream area was kinda gross and the people working that day were not friendly. I purchased several items in the gift shop and some of the added features they offer weren’t even made available this time. Google also advertised that the dining place in their shared parking lot was open but it was roped off and closed. (I dont know if these establishments are joint or not but they seem to be) I was encouraged to go there in the past by the staff here and it was a great place to eat. The staff also didn’t tell us how to get involved with a round of putt putt or the outdoor areas which were also highlights for why we came in that day. I hope this was just an isolated incident because I really loved taking this road trip and want it to be...
