I want to start by saying, we always try to give our money to small businesses, that’s why we chose to eat here. We got the burnt ends, and yes, they had a good flavor, but we got 4 small bites of meat for $10. We also got the baked potatoes with brisket, and literally, there was a spoonful of meat on them with a charge of $5. The potatoes were not cooked and was very hard and was $15 each. We ordered a coffee and Dr Pepper. The Dr Pepper was straight carbonation and they did take that off the ticket. They never brought the coffee at all, and when checking out I told them. The waitress said she would remove it from the ticket. After she charged my card, I asked for the itemized receipt. Once received, the coffee was still on there and I told her she charged me for it, and she just looked at me. That was it! Never said anything about charging me for it or offering to refund me. I did tell the other lady that they shouldn’t be charging people for things they never received and she said she would refund it, but honestly at this point it was just time leave. I wish I could say I recommend this place,...
Read moreWe were staying in San Cristobal and not wanting to go back to Taos for dinner, so we looked north and found a listing for Rosie’s. We decided to try it. We are so glad we did! The food was phenomenal! We met Rosie and her husband and they were the friendliest people, as were all of their staff. We tried the ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. It was top tier barbecue. For sides we had potato salad, baked beans, and Mac and cheese. They have both regular Mac and cheese and green chile Mac and cheese. They were both great, but the green chile Mac and cheese was extra special, in my opinion. They offer lots of great desserts, too. On the day we visited, they offered peach cobbler, cherry cobbler, red velvet cake, lemon cake with blueberry filling, banana pudding, and brownies. Everything we tried was excellent! If I were a local, I’d be in that place all the time. If I ever make it back to this area, I will make a special trip to Questa just to visit...
Read moreWe ate at Rosie’s on our way from Texas to Colorado last month. The food was so good that we intentionally scheduled a return stop for lunch on our way back home. Everything about Rosie’s is delightful. The service is friendly, helpful, attentive, and courteous. The food is excellent. We have had the ribs, brisket, pulled pork, burnt ends, and even the fried bologna sandwich. The sides are equally tasty with generous portions. Everything is prepared to perfection. And best of all Rosie is everywhere…greeting guests, checking orders in the kitchen, visiting with diners at the table. This is an extended family operation and you feel like you are a member of the family. If you are in Taos or Red River looking for a place to eat you need to make the short drive to Questa for an...
