I normally never write bad reviews. I am a restaurant worker myself and I understand that the review process for employees and the restaurant is usually stilted towards the negative and in most cases problems don’t necessarily need to be shared as a review but I deem my experience last evening to be a safety issue and concerns for other potential restaurant goers. Last evening my partner and I visited the Dixie Forest Road location as we have many times before but I’ve never had such a dark experience from a team member and general atmosphere, However, the third shift team that was scheduled on July 16, 2023 was some of the darkest human beings I’ve ever met. They are openly stealing from the restaurant and taking loudly about in the dining area in front of guests. They are using hard drugs straight up on the line (think the nose sugar kind) and Anna the salesperson is an impish troll women who literally stole my credit card information after claiming the chip on my card was not working and needed to manually enter the card number. While the specifics of the entire experience is being handled directly with Waffle House corporate I did want to raise some kind of consumer awareness about what is happening at that restaurant. Anna manually reopened the check hours after it had been closed added an additional tip to the transaction which I did not sign for or authorize. After the supposed chip malfunction and manual entry receipt the bill was x amount and the tip line which below it was signed with “ on the table” I did not leave a credit card tip but rather cash on the table it was not much I’ll admit but the way Anna treated us throughout our dining experience it was more then was probably fair. I awoke this morning to a larger authorization on many bank statement that was not signed for and very obviously was a reopened ticket as their were two different pending transactions from Waffle House the original that was closed and one made about fours later. This is a big safety concern for potential restaurant guests whose credit card information could be potentially compromised like mine was by this employee. The other salesperson whose name I didn’t get but has Neon Green hair and Facial piercings also handled my card at the register and experienced the same “Chip Malfunction” granted she did pass it back on to Anna who entered it manually but both girls very loudly while dancing to a very inappropriate Cardi B song were sharing their own personal stealing stories and experiences with the cook who also admitted to “till dippin” some nights. Employees who are admitting to theft and using substances on the job are public safety risk and risk for the consumer. If the food was better it might have saved this experience a bit but the food was terrible. Having your credit card information terrible. The horrible attitudes of the employees terrible. That was just a terribly dark experience at Waffle House and honestly a safety investigation needs to take place with the Raleigh Police department. One of the employees admitted very loudly that she has stolen over 1000 dollars from Waffle House and be that customer or the restaurant funds that’s not okay. If you choose to visit during third shift pay with cash and be quick becuase it is...
Read moreWalked in while on shift, have a 30 min lunch break. It was not busy at this time. Got service right away, drink order took. Was then told another waitress was going to be our waitress. This lady appeared to be new as if the other girl was training her. She was asking questions about calling the orders out, etc. that’s perfectly fine. We ordered our food. And my partner had to ask a refill. Again, figured the girl was new so cut her a break. Our food came out and noticed I received Country Ham instead of City Ham. Said something to my partner about this. But again, to not cause issues for the new girl and food to be wasted I decided to eat it. My partner had to ask about his waffle. The girl said they had to remake it. She asked the cook, which not sure if he realized we could hear him or if he didn’t care we could hear him. But the fit stated we were waiting. And responded “He can wait” she states to him, “he is right there” I heard him say he didn’t care, he could wait. Our bills came and I noticed a $5.50 up charge on my meal. I asked what this charge was for and was told it was for the country ham. I had asked for city ham and didn’t make a deal about it because I knew the girl was new. They stated they would give me 10% off because I had ate the food. I explained again, I had ate the food because I didn’t want to cause a big deal, being the girl was new and that would be wasting food. I stated I would pay for it and I would like the GM number to contact. He then called the GM and told the GM differently than what had been stated. The GM then stated to fix the total. I just can’t believe this is how customers are treated here, to argue with someone. instead of just fixing it. Even when the waitress admitted she had placed the...
Read moreIt’s always a horrible experience at this waffle house in particular. Doesn’t matter what time you go, what day of the week it is or what employees are there.. so I went to this waffle House an ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on Texas toast and a waffle. The white lady with the dark hair, septum piercing, and cuts on her wrist (said her name was Emily or emilette, probably lied. They don’t wear name tags) asked me if I wanted the hashbrowns that came with the sandwich. So I’m assuming that there’s no up charge for the hashbrowns since it “comes” with the sandwich. Once I got my order I didn’t have a waffle and I asked her where was my waffle. She told me that she didn’t charge me for a waffle. Why did she not charge me for a waffle if I ordered one. A bacon egg and cheese sandwich on Texas toast is $4.65 so apparently I paid $4 for a hash brown. My problem could’ve simply been fixed by them making me a waffle. After I went back out to the car I did the math on everything that I ordered and went back in to ask them to break down. She charged me for the meal but had implied that the hashbrowns came with the sandwich and disregarded my whole waffle order. When I asked the employees there what was the store number or customer service number they lied and said they don’t think they have one. Just don’t go to this Waffle House!
Update: Just checked my bank account and the girl went back in and charged me $12.07. My receipt that I signed was for $9.07. So they are stealing money from customers thinking that people wouldn’t notice. Make sure y’all are checking y’all’s account. Cause she charged me for a $12.07 for a sandwich melt and...
