My initial contact with the bakery was via email. I am planning a wedding from Iowa for my son and daughter-in-law that will be held in Indio, California. I provided the information and picture of the cake. I received a reply quickly via email stating to contact the cake decorators via phone call. I called the next day and spoke with Charity. She provided a quote went over the details of the size of cake, servings, etc.. She provided several options for flavors, fillings, frosting. Charity provided informative information, very courteous, jovial, great customer service. You could hear her expressions through her voice! Great job. She ended the call stating that I could call and update my order any time. Thank you Charity. About a week ago I called the bakery and spoke with Debra, to confirm my order because we are purchasing a cake stand for the cake. I wanted to confirm the height, width and update regarding fresh flowers. Ooops, I also changed the flavor from vanilla to Champagne. Debra was very kind, courteous and professional. Debra took the time to answer EVERY question I had. She informed me how many layers of cake, height, width and the cake will be on cardboard to be placed on the cake stand. She provided 2 nearby florist options that the bakery works with. I have since contacted the florist. So far, my experience is EXCEPTIONAL from a simple email to two phone conversations. Wrong ingredients without refund...Rep hung up on me while i was very calmly trying to discuss the problems...Blamed the Birthday Girl for her mis-spelled name on the cake, which was a surprise gift to her... I ordered lemon flavored cake, got yellow cake with lemon food coloring and zest...Ordered cream cheese between layers, got white cream with no taste...Ordered strawberries between layers, got red gel on only one layer. The Birthday cake was a disaster. The Birthday Girl and her Husband brought the cake BACK and left it with Debra, the so-called Manager.She made it clear that she has enough clients already and we can take our business elsewhere. We paid the bakery for the roses because we could either get them ourselves or the bakery can get them from the florist they work with. We decided to pay the bakery to handle it. Never received the roses.. The cake was awful.. Lack of attention to detail. Very dissapointed. Maybe they just didnt care to have any more of our business. Deborah also said we would receive a discount if we paid cash. I paid cash.... No discount received. When I called about the roses Deborah said they let the clients handle that themselves and they never work with a florist. I was so shocked she straight out lied.
