We are regular customers of the Pizza Pub (bi-weekly), and have had a number of customer service/food quality issues since the restaurant changed ownership.

Service: Our takeout orders have been delayed by up to an hour past the quoted pickup time, multiple times...on these occasions, a lackluster apology has been offered, but extremely minimal financial or product compensation (Cheapest bottle of wine on the menu was offered on one of the hour-delay occasions). Given that we spend about $3k at this restaurant annually as a family, and are recognized by the majority of the staff (including the owner), I find these remediation efforts pretty pathetic.

Food Quality: -Pizza crusts are inconsistent...sometimes perfectly cooked, but often on the unpleasant side of raw. -Mushroom toppings on a pizza in Jan 2025 smelled and felt like they had been expired for a week. -Most recently, April 22 2025, we ordered a quart of minestrone, and a quart of pasta fagioli. Approximately 50% of the solid ingredients in both of the soups were inch long slices of raw garlic...basically inedible, but my mother did manage to finish her bowl, which unfortunately resulted in some non-trivial gastrointestinal symptoms.

Believe me, I take no pleasure in writing this review, but we have been let down, lied to, and have paid for food that was at best unpleasant, and at worst potentially dangerous. As an employee in the restaurant industry myself, I have no problem saying that the above issues fall far short of any standard of quality I've seen in my career.

Good luck to new ownership, I genuinely hope this place improves because it has been part of our family rituals for almost 20 years...

I have always enjoyed the pizza from Pizza Pub, it's tasty and usually quick to arrive. Unfortunately my experience this time means I will likely be seeking another go to pizza joint. I ordered a Phil's white with sausage as an extra on half, and paid for that with delivery. When the pizza arrived I got half a Phil's white and half just cheese and sausage. I called to let them know, was offered a replacement, but only if I drove the pizza back to them myself. I did not get what I paid for and asking me to drive to them to rectify the problem is not the kind of service I expect when I am paying $25+ for a pie.

Edit: Gino (manager?) Called me as soon as he was made aware and offered a free dinner if we ever wanted to try them out again. I was happy to accept and have adjusted my review accordingly, happy with the Pizza Pub again! As always, the...

called three diff times for pizza with white sauce. Both times I was told they couldnt. Left a generous 3 star review. I STILL chose to order again and was told " take down your review and then you can have white sauce:" I will no longer be ordering from them again after 20+ years. Who are you to give me an ultimatum over an average review that should of been a 1 star. Instead of 3 now you get 2. The old manager cooked us a pizza shortly after closing during hurricane Sandy bc the power was out. I'm being told to take down a honest review in order to give him more of my hard earned money to order food again?!?!?. What a weird world we live in. This place used to be honest, caring, and cook great food. Now,...

I have not been back to the Pizza Pub in a few years. I am glad that I stopped back in to try their Grandma Pizza. Stopped in to grab a few for the road. The owners right off the bat were nice, engaging and loved talking Pizza. They had 2 slices from an earlier Pizza on display with a fresh pie. They gave me the Fresh Pizza slices, not like other places that have refused to serve me the fresh slices. The sauce and cheese were amazing. You ca. Really taste the olive oil with each bite as well. Went back 2 days later to order a full pie for lunch. Never do that. Will look for the Pizza Pub to do well in the Morris County Tournament of Pizza.

After reading other reviews, I sent my husband to pick up a pie. Our Pizza had lots of bubbles, Extra points, since my husband Loves them! I found crust was tender & chewy w/ yummy homemade tomato sauce, & mozzarella. Also tried their baked Stuffed Shells, which were served w/ fresh Basil sprinkled on top, but, could have used a bit more sauce, but still very good. It was served w/2 small crisp rolls, made from pizza dough. A nice touch. Will return for more!

We we for the first time yesterday. It was great! The food seemed very fresh, may be why it took a while. We thought the prices were very reasonable and the atmosphere was nice. The zucchini must be local because it was super fresh! We will be back to try pizza soon and will rate again. I had the broccoli rab and sausage sandwich and clam appetizers along with zucchini Parm appetizer and zucchini straws. All delicious!
