The Kountry Kitchen impressed my kids who wanted to stop at McDonald’s for lunch. I was able to bypass their favorite food stop and dropped in on the diner for the first time since moving to Lancaster. The kids cheeseburgers did not disappoint. Both kids gave A+ reviews for the burgers and French fries. They were super happy with the ice cream dessert which is included in the kid meals. A review cannot get any better from these two as they would like to return for a breakfast too. The diner is very kid-friendly and I was grateful for the kids menu, crayons, lollipops, and large portions which made for a snack later in the day for my growing munchkins.

I opted for the fresh 1/2 lb mushroom Swiss burger and was impressed with the fresh cut fries and taste of the burger which had been expertly prepared. The menu has an assortment of soups, salads, burgers, panini sandwiches, assorted gourmet sandwiches, footlong subs, melts, Italian/Greek/Asian entree’s, home style meals, steaks/chops/ribs, seafood and extensive breakfast all day menu. I love that they also offer a senior menu too. It does not surprise me that this “Little Gem” always has cars in the parking lot.

Do yourself a favor and stop by as the food is “just like Mom’s cooking” and the location has plenty of seating, parking, and friendly staff. The diner is handicapped assessable with ramps out front.

Sorry, no pictures of our burgers as we dug in right away. Oops... Returned and ordered the mushroom Swiss burger again and a cup of chili. Delicious. The chicken corn noodle soup was amazing according to my friend. Just saying...

Service was friendly and atmosphere was homey. I very much wanted to like Kountry Kitchen, but I ended up eating not even 1/4th of my meal and having to get food elsewhere up the road. I ordered the "Chicken & Waffles" from the special menu. We're from the South, and so I have experience with Chicken & Waffles. I've had it be great, and I've had it be kind of blah, but the Kountry Kitchen "Chicken & Waffles" registered on the scale at Absolutely Revolting. While attempting to eat it, I literally had the urge to vomit. It was essentially cream of chicken soup with shredded chicken on top of a Motel Continental Breakfast style waffle. It was like an exaggeratedly bad school lunch nightmare. It appeared as if the chef had eaten a bad chicken casserole and then thrown up all over a tasteless waffle. I'm not usually this melodramatic, but seriously, Vomit Chicken & Waffles. It wasn't even seasoned.

I also had the Spicy Steak Fries as a side, and these, while appearing nicely crisp on the outside, were also not seasoned, let along "spicy". They were also cut as approximately 1/4 of a potato, and so were overly thick, and so were underdone in the middle. Barely past raw, and also inedible.

My wife had eggs and bacon. Easy. Except she ordered her eggs sunny-side up. she was unfortunately unable to eat the majority of her eggs, as they were covered with raw albumin on top. Sure, sunny-side up is sometimes a little tricky to get right, but come on.

All in all, friendly service, in a beautiful setting, with not just bad, but disgusting food.

Please, please, please, take the "Chicken & Waffles" off of your menu. It's truly horrendous, and deceitful to anyone who has had actual...

I moved to Lancaster County about two years ago and this is by far the worst restaurant I have ever had the displeasure of eating at. I'm honestly baffled by all the positive reviews for this place. When we pulled up during prime dinner time and there were only two cars in the lot, that should have been a sign. In a nutshell, the food was extremely bland and tasted like nothing. The mushroom swiss burger was so bland it was like you were eating air. The mac & cheese had zero cheese flavor whatsoever. The lasagna was dry and flavorless. They couldn't even get the FRENCH FRIES right! I'm not joking when I say that they looked and tasted like leftover fries that had been tossed in the microwave for a few seconds. They couldn't even get my kid's hot dog right, even that was a shriveled up/dry mess. It's a shame because it's a cool little location across from a farm..

When I was leaving the lady at the register asked how it was and I was honest (in a nice way), and instead of getting the manager or doing anything to comp the bill in any way whatsoever, she just said 'oh, sorry!' Gee, thanks!

Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money at this place. And it wasn't cheap either by the way, kids meals were $9.25 - Sure, it's the age of inflation, and we don't mind paying a hair more, but the food was...

I have never left a review, since I don't like reviews and want to try my own, but this upset me. I called for a take-out order of Eggs Benedict(original, they offer different versions). I asked for extra sauce and a small orange juice. Apparently with extra sauce you receive a tablespoon of hollandaise sauce[total] split between both English muffin halves. Thats extra sauce? The small OJ - thanks for the kid size? I didnt know small was for kids. I've never been to a restaurant where small meant kid sized. Their 'small' is little bigger than creamers you get for coffee. Don't take my word for it, ask for a small and a creamer. You'll see. At least their hollandaise sauce did taste good but the drippings they gave for 'extra sauce' or normal was non existent. Other restaurants when asked for extra sauce give more than they give for a small OJ.(City Star Diner best so far) But as I said I don't like reviews so do you're own eating. Regarding pictured, left is country kitchen serving of small OJ. Middle, about 1 cup of my own. Right is a small at normal restaurants(CSD). When Kountry Kitchen poured out it filled 3/4 of the middle glass(full about 1 full cup). Again, I dont leave reviews but this really urked me. I wish I took pictures of the meal.
