Country Road Barn — Restaurant in Rauville Township

We got there about 6:15 pm and ordered our drinks and food within 5 minutes of arriving. I had ordered a Crown and water. I received a Corona and a glass of water. I got that straightened out. We sat and watched other people come in and get their food while we waited. The special that night was prime rib with mashed potatoes and corn, which we had all ordered. The place was less than half full. There were plenty of employees on the floor. I had a good view of the kitchen and could usually see two people just standing around for the most part. Our waitress came back around a couple of times and said the order shouldn't be too much longer, the last time we looked at the time, which was 7:14 pm. At about 7:40 the waitress again stopped and said that she would check on our order. We saw her talking with someone near the bar and both were looking at their printer. The waitress came back to our table and said that for some reason our order didn't print when she put it in. They were going to offer us a 10% discount, which I told her was not close to what it should be. Our prime rib plates arrived shortly after without the corn and mashed potatoes, which came out about 5 minutes later. A person from our table went to talk with the manager at that point and said 10% was not even close to what we should have received. He was assured it was more than 10%. When the bill came it was 15% off, which we all thought was very little due to the time we sat and waited. The food was at least pretty good. The place needs to get their stuff together!! I worked in food service for a couple of years. We would have either comped the meals or given 50% off food and free drinks. The profit margin on food is 10% higher now than when I worked in a high end restaurant. Ensure you have plenty of time to wait for your food...

My wife and 2 friends walked in and was promptly seated, at the very back of the dining room. We joked with the server that seated us about this. We never had her or anyone else return to our table. A group of 14 came in and was seated about 10 feet away from us. Then a table of 4 was seated past them. The server came over to the table of 14 and took their drink order and proceeded to the table of 4 and took their drink orders. With us still sitting and waiting. A different server did approach our table after a while but turned around and walked away. We got up and left. As we were leaving one of the servers approached and we told her about what happened. She said she could seat us in another area and we would be served right away. I told her they already lost...

Been here twice now from out of state. First time I ordered the wings and Mac and cheese. The wings were no good. And the Mac was just bland and basic. The flavor was lacking. The wings tasted like they came out of a bag vs actually frying fresh wings. I went back a second time to give them the benefit of the doubt. I ordered the rotisserie chicken and fries. The chicken was no good. It tasted like the rotisserie chicken you buy from Walmart that is already premade. I doubt they are actually making it fresh. Idk what it is about this place but I guess it's good for SD standards. I ain't coming back here. I will say the atmosphere is great. They need to stop cutting corners with the preparation of the food and actually invest in making better...
