Country Pride — Restaurant in Rawlins

My husband and I are truck drivers. We've been shut down for 2 days here and have now eaten 3 different times at this location, each time with a different waitress. Every time we've came in, the service has steadily gotten worse. Food was great, but service needs a very large amount of work. I understand finding good people is hard because of the economy and the times, but this is absolutely ridiculous! An ADHD 5 yr old has a better attention span than these airheads, and could probably provide better service. I hate writing bad reviews, but this is so absolutely, amazingly and shockingly the worst service we've ever had anywhere!!!! We've been to all 48 states, and this is by far the worst. I'm only giving 2 stars because of the food. Otherwise, I'd only give the 1 because it's mandatory to leave something. We understand the struggle of waitressing, so we always give at least a $20 tip. The first time we left a $6 tip or so, the second time nothing. This time, we left a single penny due to her very rude and haughty behavior. My husband was trying to order coffee and a second drink, she cut him off before he could even finish telling her what she wanted. When we went to order, she blanched because I wanted extra sides and asked 3 different times for clarification, even though I made sure to be very clear about what I wanted because at this point I feared I was dealing with illiterate idiots. I'm not a Karen by nature, I've been in the waitressing industry. I know the struggles, and that one survives off of tips alone because minimum wage doesn't pay the bloody blessed bills. We were in Rawlins Wyoming. Service was quick, attentive and friendly. Angel was a great waiter, and Crystal and Bri were great waitresses. Although Brianna seems to have good days and bad days. We wanted to try the New Hash, but never got to. They do seem to run out of quite a few things. They have great burgers, and one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Food came quickly. It was very clean. Right off the interstate in the TA Travel Center so bathrooms, showers, and laundry in the same building! If you're stopped for gas, or a trucker staying out back, eat here. UPDATE: We have been here twice a day, for 4 days now, due to our motorhome having 2 flat tires in the parking lot, and being allowed to stay until we could get them fixed/replaced. Consistent good service and consistent good food, regardless of time of day. During our stay, we emptied all if our water jugs in the rv. On our last night, Angel was kind enough to fill a couple of them for us, and was happy to do it. We'll definitely be back when in the area, as well as recommended it to others. I hope the staff I mentioned, as well as those I didn't, will be commended for a job well done. Also, I just read more reviews and noticed that there is a Military discount available. We should have asked I guess. It was never offered, and after 21 years in the Army and 8 combat deployments, AND more than 8 meals eaten here, in 5 days, we most definitely would have...

I got there around 1:15pm to order take-out, which they have a designated spot for it, so I assume they are probably used to it. I order their "special", which was a Spicy Korean Steak bowl, that consisted in a bowl of rice, with steak, green beans and a spicy Korean sauce. I was told it would be "right out". Well... it wasn't. I sat in a booth and watched full tables of people that put their order way after mine, get served their food before me. It was about 2pm when I finally got my food. I paid around 20 dollars for it (19 and some change), and took it back to work. When I opened the container, I caught myself staring at an extremely overcooked piece of steak, the "mushiest" rice I have ever seen, and the worst tasting green beans (I am assuming, by the texture, they were canned) I have ever tasted. It was so bad, that I decided to write this review, and I normally don't write them. The breakfast items on the menu didn't look too bad, but I can't vouch for them, and can only review my experience with what I ordered. It was, without any exaggeration, the worst meal I have ever paid for. Even for gas station standards, the food was so awful, that I was unable to finish. I hate to write a bad review, because I understand how it negatively affects the life of their workers, but I really hope it could be an eye opener for the management to step their game up on the quality...
