My wife and I visited Crue Brew yesterday afternoon for the first time. It was busy for a Saturday afternoon, yet we were greeted at the door like we were their most important customer. The owners and staff were very engaged and the service was top notch. This brewery is much larger than any neighboring microbrewery and they offered tours regularly.
The best part of the brewery (other than the beer of course) is the decor and the open view of the brewing equipment. The centerpiece of the inside is an oversized oval shaped bar, and there were several high tops and standing room stools, so even though it was busy, you didn't feel crowded like other craft beer locations. The entire decor was reminiscent of something you'd expect in a Colorado ski lodge, not in an industrial park in Raynham. Everything about the design was well-thought out and charming, from the tree trunks supporting the high tops to the lantern style wall sconces. And all the table tops and bar tops have like a cast-concrete kind of top that adds to the whole atmosphere.
Additionally, there are a few picnic tables, with the nice concrete tops, in the corner with games. It is also Bring Your Own Food, so it's a perfect set up to pick up some food on the ride there, or even get it delivered.
Now for the important part, the beer. Having grown up in Raynham, I was most excited to try the Raynham Red. It had a different take on what you'd expect to be an Irish Red, having hints of honey and a sweet taste.
Their best beers, in my humble opinion, ranked 1) Equalizer double IPA. 2) Everyday Ale 3) CB Porter The equalizer was a smooth IPA, not overwhelming with hops. The Everyday Ale was a very refreshing and easy drinking beer but had the most incredible color for such a smooth drink. It was an English style ale but without as much bitterness. The CB Porter was a great dessert beer. Hints of caramel and chocolate made this a great drink for those who love the darker beers.
They also had a mango beer IPA and another IPA that were both worth trying. All the beers were great, I would certainly suggest trying them all but those three were my personal preferences.
The beers had very original and interesting recipes. And I will certainly be visiting again soon to see what else they come up with, and to enjoy the great atmosphere put forward by the staff and the...
Read moreCrue Brew is such a great little brewery. They have a wide selection of craft beers from IPA, to Stouts/Porters, to lagers and even radlers and Shandy's. Really something for everyone. We started going here during the pandemic cause they offer a lot of outdoor seating and we always feel safe. Since Covid is still very much a concern we only go out once a week so we don't go stir crazy, and we always choose to go here because of the great beer, awesome food vendors they have partnered with and friendly staff.
**We don't go here anymore because now they have ood trucks and larger crowds the quality of service had decreased drastically. The last three times we have gone we have waited over 45mins and already received and eaten out food (required to have per Gov Bakers rules) before we had to go inside and have someone take our drink order. Then we have to flag someone down after finishing our beers and waiting another 20mins or so to get another order. Everytime we track someone down it is treated like a hassle that we got up and bothered someone. With Covid I would rather not leave my table every time I would like to order but it has become impossible.
Really disappointing the turn in service here. We recommend the spot to a bunch of people and now we warn them not to...
Read moreMy first visit to this craft brewery. Located in a commercial area with ample parking. I was amazed at the number of beers on tap. They offer flights to sample different styles so myself and a family member tried 8 different beers. The beers are very well done. Clean, fresh and true to style from lighter lagers, pale ale, amber, brown and stouts. They do not have a kitchen but food trucks come by and there is delivery from many restaurants in the area. The day we were there a local wing place brought out some serving tables and warming tables to serve the patrons there, pretty cool. That have entertainment and it's a very relaxing, laid back vibe. If you are in the area I would give them a try. I gave 4 stars but I would go 4 1/2 stars if I could.
Went back again and they had a pizza truck. The Octoberfest was in tap and it's very well done. It's not as heavy as a Sam's and not as hopped and crystal sweet as say a Paulener from Germany but very well made and a session beer for sure. They do a very nice job with all their beers and the number of people there in a Friday...
