I get that running a small, family-owned restaurant isn’t easy, and I respect the hard work behind it. But instead of deflecting criticism, I think it’s more helpful to take accountability when things don’t go well.
When I visited, it was just the two of us—no other dine-in or takeout customers before or during our time there around 3 PM. So I honestly don’t believe the items we asked for were sold out. It felt more like they just weren’t being prepared that day.
The waiter also told us that you haven’t cooked any Nepali dishes in a while, even though they’re still on the menu. If that’s the case, the menu should be updated—it’s confusing and misleading to keep offering items that aren’t actually available.
I’m not trying to be harsh. I’m sharing this feedback so future customers have a better experience. Being a small restaurant doesn’t mean quality, honesty, and customer care should be overlooked. Food was so bad. We didn’t eat most of it. Goat curry had weird smell (it might be lamb). Chat was not chat. It had hot chickpea burry on top. It didn’t taste like chat. Chicken curry had stale taste. Naan was bitter for some reason. No running AC. It was so hot to dine in. They didn’t have atleast 3 item we asked initially from the menu. Although name is Himalayan grill they weren’t cooking any Nepalese cuisine mentioned in menu. If you don’t have most of the item in the menu, please update it. All in all one of the worst place we have...
Read moreHonest review: I ordered from the website which had some more options not available on Doordash. Garlic naan- hot, fresh very tasty and flavourful. Would order again. Basmati rice- fresh, hot very flavorful and the right amount of salt. Lamb karahi- meat tasted good and fresh. Not spicy and not enough salt. Would be better without the big chunks of onion. Flavor was lacking but overall OK. Butter chicken- only got this because the reviews were raving but this was probably the worst I've ever had. Sauce was so overly sweet, unreasonably color added, and no flavor of spices, masala or butter. The chicken pieces were boneless strips but honestly tasted like a vegan alternative rather than fresh. I don't know what the reviews were talking about. Spice level medium is really very mild. Gulab jaman- 10/10 its so hard to find authentic and these were delicious. Rita and chutneys- too sweet, watery and no salt. Overall- its nice to have an option in raytown but this is not authentic north indian and clearly catered for western tastes. I wish they would make it clear that the curries come with rice as a standard side. For $60 I was expecting a much higher standard and really trusted the reviews. I am South Asian so I look for authenticity. Wish I could get my money back for the butter chicken, since I had to throw it out. Disappointed with the entrees so probably wouldnt order again. Hope they can...
Read moreI don't like to give negative reviews to anyone but for delivery drivers this place is a nightmare. I don't base that on just one or two things. I've come here several times and have always had to wait tonight. I had to wait for almost 20 minutes before they had my order ready for my customer and every time I'd ask when how long it would be. I was just shunned mumbled something and I never got an answer. Very frustrated. So yes, they may have wonderful food and be wonderful people it's there but their service to delivery people is terrible. ++++Response to the restaurants post+++++ "We don't decide when show up at your restaurant. Actually, most of that is based upon your input Here's the rule according to Door Dash: (Again, I'm not trying to argue with you. I'm just stating facts that maybe you weren't aware of)? # 3 Restaurant Sets Prep Time: The restaurant confirms the order and sets a prep time, indicating how long it will take to prepare the order, or an automated prep time from the app is used if not manually chosen." So, apparently you must have it set on auto? I hope this...
