Inn 94 — Restaurant in Reading Township

I really used to LOVE this place. I still love the appetizers, the cheese & bread. However, I went for Valentine’s Day last year and treated my family to what I hoped would be a wonderful meal. I spent well over $250 on 4 checks and tipped well. We went as a family because it was also my son’s birthday. The seafood was dry, had a bitter stanky aftertaste, all of our broiled entrees (3 of the 4) were overcooked, under-seasoned and bland. I have worked in kitchens before and know the taste of rushed defrosting and farmed seafood of poor quality. That was the taste of the food that day. We all left with bewildered frowns. I thought maybe it was just the Holiday that made it so the food was “off”. You know, extra prepping because of more customers than usual and whatnot. So, I wanted to give them another shot since I have always enjoyed my previous visits to Inn 94. My husband and I returned for a date night a few months later. Same EXACT taste & quality again. Again with the overcooked stinky shrimp, bland & dry broiled seafood platter. I took a few bites and purposely left my huge doggy bag on the table when I left. I still enjoyed the stuffed mushroom app but my meal? Just no. What used to be my favorite broiled seafood platter for nearly all of my life is now a gross imitation of good food. We ate here for the first time yesterday...it was an engagement party of 21 people...food was excellent and so was the service...we were quite impressed with how fast we were served considering how large our group was....Their menu offers a wide variety. Great seafood selection ! Everyone that ordered steaks were very pleased. The crab stuffed Flounder was a hit as well.....Calamari n Stuffed crab mushrooms were excellent I highly recommend you give em a try. Everyone from the owner to the servers just could not be any nicer. We stop in at least 1-2 times a month and have for three years now. We absolutely love it. The service is always spectacular and the food is consistently good. We love the crab cake and crab imperial. I so appreciate the petite entree option because otherwise I waste food. It’s just the right amount. They’re always sweet to our baby and it’s nice to be able to take him into a trusted clean, quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
