UPDATED REVIEW OF THIS SILLY ESTABLISHMENT I went back in here two weeks ago since it has been precisely one year since I chose to walk out and not return. The lethargic employee that I mentioned in the original review no longer works there so I thought I would give it another try. It was stated by the current staff that "due to my bad review, I may not have been served. If I step out of line or talk poorly about the bar again, I will receive a lifetime ban." Rolling on the floor laughing as I try to type this update... That is in quotes for a reason because those words came out of an actual employee's mouth. So everyone be warned, if you have a poor opinion of this place and state it publicly, you will be "banned for life". LOLz The utterly hilarious part about all of this is that this place sucks. It's filthy, it stinks like a fraternity basement, and smoke wafts into the bar through the windows that are left open. There is nothing like biting into your overcooked and flavorless gray beef patty burger just as a bong hit amount of cheap tobacco smoke smashes you in the face. Delish!
The owner Jen thinks that it is a privilege to be allowed to come in and spend your money on over-priced drinks when you come here. It's a complete dive bar serving deep fried Sysco food service ultra-processed garbage at 3-star Michelin pricing. It's not about whether something is edible here; it's price is based on how much it weighs as if you're feeding hogs at a trough. There are real bars serving craft beers and real food up in Dillsburg. Avoid this nasty place at all costs, unless you want to eat breaded food service micro shrimp and wash it down with $4 shots of Fireball. What a train wreck.
ORIGINAL REVIEW FALL 2022 Some bartenders will throttle you if they are too busy and cannot keep up with the patrons. However, someone who is trashed and drinking bud lights for 10 hours will be served because that falls in line with the lethargic pace of that bartender who is unable to keep up with approximately 25 customers. The owner will side with staff regarding this policy when questioned. That is a poor attitude towards regular customers so I will...
Read moreWent here during the holiday season 2024. Was not very busy. TL;DR: Average to good bar with nice owner, but some young guys were using the n word out loud multiple times when it was pretty quiet inside.
Here are things that stood out:
Price: Prices are pretty standard. I was expecting it to be a bit cheaper.
Quality: Great beer on tap. No complaints. Can't speak to the food.
Owner: Owner was very nice. She was very positive and welcoming. Her service gave the bar a 'small hometown' feel to it that I appreciated.
Clientele and Atmosphere: Vague cigarette smells. The place has video slot machines which I didn't love. The heat is kept at "cheapskate low" levels, which I kinda respect. Unfortunately a bunch of young guns came in and started using the slot machines and one of them used the n word repeatedly out loud. We left right after that. Grew up in Adams County and never heard anyone talk like that in public. Don't want to blame the owners for the conduct of their clientele but people don't' just walk into a restaurant and start...
Read moreWhile I have never had the pleasure of visiting this establishment, I must say that the ownership and staff are rock solid people! My mother recently got confused on a road trip and lost her way in her car at night, hundreds of miles from her home. It was a scary evening for our family until Mom happened to pull into the parking lot of Jen-Jen's Rhythm N Brews. After the state police located my 80+ year old disoriented mom in the parking lot of this establishment, the owner and staff agreed to keep a watchful eye on mom while she awaited family to arrive and take her home. Our family is forever grateful for the good folks at Jen-Jen's! We hope to pay a visit at some point in the future and thank the...
