Kickapoo Creekside — Restaurant in Readstown

The food is pretty darned good in general. I had the ribs on my most recent visit. They had a couple chewy bites, but just into the ribs they really were easily pulling apart and great. The salad bar looks small, but there are a surprising amount of options there.

Inside is clean and presentable. There are a couple rooms for dining in the bar area, and another sole eating area, maybe for a more quiet experience, or perhaps when they are filled up.

My wife loves outside here, they have a wonderful patio area. It’s a gated area which is nice, our two year old could run around and happened to not bother anyone. The view is memorable. A deer ran through the field near the end of our dinner.

Possibly the best part of it all was our server, Susan. I’ve been here probably a half a dozen times in the past year or so, and any time we get Susan it’s like being pampered. She’s not just there to take your order and give you your food. My wife asked for a bottled water, which they didn’t have, and Susan gave us one of her own personal waters. My son pushed my salad plate and it flipped into my lap, she was there in about 10 seconds with a rag, and she pulled up another table to make more space (so he couldn’t reach any more food). It just really feels like she wants you to have a good time there. on another trip, I’m pretty sure I remember her bringing out some cookies for our son to try, which we don’t give him cookies, but I asked for one and she gave me some :) I can confidently say, you are in good hands while you have her as your server, not to discount the other servers, but she has, time and time again, really...

We ordered two of the specials and boy were they a disappointment. It came with just one trip through their salad bar. The salad bar was lacking and the ranch tasted off. I had ordered the Sunday chicken special which was broasted chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing. The stuffing came with gravy on it and I soon realized they did that to try and cover how old and dry it was. Even with gravy on it, it was way too old and dry to choke down. The mashed potatoes were ok but my chicken wasn’t as warm as it should’ve been. My husbands lasagna special was old, meat was dry and hard, and the middle was cold. It was definitely microwaved which was gross and annoying for being a special and the garlic was old and gross. My daughter ordered the kids salad bar and was so disappointed at how little was on it and how bad the ranch was so she didn’t eat. My son ordered a burger and fries and the fries were cold and yucky as well. We will never go back with how bad the food was and how high the prices were. Won’t ever...

If I could put a no stars I would. We have been waiting for our food for over 45 minutes and two groups of people got their food before we did, that ordered after we did. Our waitress hasn’t kept our drinks full, either. We will never come back and we still haven’t gotten our food, so I can’t even give a review on that. This is two days later and have time to calm down. It doesn’t change my opinion of what happened. The food was somewhat good, after it was in the air fryer. It would’ve been soggy if we hadn’t done that. Which means we wouldn’t have been happy and things would’ve just gotten worse. Also no one has even reached out to say that they are sorry for the poor customer service. Maybe they are clicky and since we aren’t apart of the click then...
