The chicken strips we ordered were very stale and tough to eat. But I don't think they are made fresh daily, they sure didn't taste like they were. And may I suggest that the establishment please consider training everyone in the proper way to safely handle food. The girl who got our food was busy putting her hair up in a ponytail before she began to handle the food. She should have washed her hands and then put on the gloves. And since she had so much hair perhaps she should have had a hairnet or a hat. She did wear gloves, but I was astounded that she was blatantly playing with her hair in front of us near the food and then did wash your hands after playing with her hair. Stopped in on our bikes touring around one afternoon. Waitress told as we sat down the recommended item was the turkey melt sandwich, as if suggesting that's what we should order. She did give us menus though and my wife was able to order something off there. I went with the recommendation as I didn't see a clubhouse on the menu. We both had fries and when my wife asked for a fork the waitress said "well aren't you special" and she grabbed the napkins that were on the table already. "you can't have these then" and stormed off. She brought us forks though but when she put them on the table she said, "What kind of riders are you guys anyways" What has that to do with anything? It's now changed owners and the name is now PETE AND HANKS COUNTRY CAFE in Red Lake Falls, MN. Conveniently located inside the Cenex Gas Station coming into town on 32 off of hwy 2. Short 10 minute drive. I had their breakfast along with a Carmel roll which is AMAZING. I told my husband about this hidden gem and we went for a Sunday lunch meal and the special was bacon crusted meatballs, mash potatoes and gravy, peas, roll and a dish of ice cream. Fresh and homemade. My husband was in HEAVEN. He had the man size while i opted for the small kids version. Prices were reasonable, staff super friendly, family owned.
