A small town diner, very plain but very welcoming. As you walk in there is a counter with stools straight ahead, booths to the right, and a couple four tops to the left. At far left is an open arch leading to another room with bigger tables and more booths.
The service is very good unless they are extremely busy, which I have seen once in perhaps 100+ visits. This place has been here forever, at least 60 years, used to be called “Edgewood.” The current owners have been here several years.
The food is reliably good, with exceptional hamburgers and cheeseburgers. Breakfast is always good. Fish fry Wednesday and Friday good, potato pancakes outstanding, particularly when savored with whipped butter and local (like a half mile away) Henry’s honey. Potato pancakes sometimes available as a special on days other than Wednesday and Friday.
Always check the “Specials” board right next to the arch between the two rooms. This morning I had “special” omelette of chopped bratwurst and Colby jack cheese. Sooo...
Read moreThis was my first time here. I grew up in the area, I was visiting town and brought some friends and family to have breakfast.
We sat and the waitress tossed the menus at us, took our drink order and put them on the table and left and didn't even attempt to hand us our drinks. She took our food order but was very impatient, and I understand it was busy, but we're here to enjoy the people food and experience, also you should still check on your customers it took at least 25 minutes to food, again busy I get it but that doesn't mean a table should be ignored. We didn't see the waitress again until the food came, we had to go to the counter to get refills.
The food was good. The waitress said things like love, and dear but it wasn't genuine. It took away from the whole experience. We got our food and within a few minutes she brought the check like a hurry up and get out vibe.
It is a cute little diner good decor and decent food, but the bad service didn't make me want...
Read moreI absolutely love this place. When our family moved to the area we came here for a bite to eat and have since made it a priority to go as often as possible. The sweet ladies there know us and our daughter very well. Even down to what we all want to eat! We all chuckle a little each time we go as our daughter only orders mozzarella sticks- no matter the time of day. When I had surgery done all I wanted to eat was the cafe. I truly cant say enough about this wonderful place! Oh! And the prices are great! Not a problem for our family of 4 to eat there with drinks for under 30 bucks. I will continue to be a devoted customer for many many many...
