H & D Chuckwagon — Restaurant in Reed City

Used to come here as a kid with my family for brunch after church. Children had Operetta practice last week at school and had an hour to kill before going. Being as they are across the street from the school, we decided to have some breakfast! Not very busy, which is lovely when you have two littles with you, who naturally are starving! Our server was so kind and even brought full size coloring books and a big box of crayons! Very impressed and humbled. Both girls got the snowman pancake with some chocolate chips whilst mom had the delicious eggs, toast and bacon. There was nothing left of their pancakes and they were stuffed! We love mom and pop diners. This one was no different. The atmosphere was cute (although the carpet either needs to be replaced or washed and vacuumed 20x over) and our server was friendly. The major bone I need to pick is the food. Yes, the prices are awesome, but that doesn't mean skipping salt or spices in the food. I had the steak and eggs and the steak was WELL done (when asked for medium) and had absolutely no flavor. I'm pretty good at letting things slide, but I hate paying for food that has no taste. Been there twice cpl months apart. The wait staff was very friendly both times, the food was hot and fast. Both times I ordered an omelet and french toast the first time I ordered a cheese, sausage and onion omelette they put a piece of sliced cheese on top the wasn't melted. The second time I ordered a sausage, bacon, ham, onion and green peppers and specifically asked for the cheese to be put inside. The onions and g. Pepper were burnt which gave it a burnt taste and there were whole slices of bacon which made it harder to cut. I won't be ordering the omelette again, but the French Toast was...
