This restaurant is a great place to experience the nostalgic feeling of being at a Drive-in restaurant from years gone by. When you find a place to park, you turn on your hazard lights and a server comes to your vehicle with the menu. (They do have a walk-up window, but it is only for ordering ice cream.) When you're ready to order, you turn on your hazard lights again.
Service was quick and our food came out much quicker than I expected. I ordered their signature Bunny Burger which was really good! My wife wanted a Ham Bar-B-Que sandwich, which comes in the regular and "DLX" version. We asked about the difference between the two and were told the DLX is larger and comes on a Kaiser roll. We ordered the DLX and it really wasn't very large, so I'm sure the size of the regular version of the sandwich may disappoint some customers.
When I ordered a Coke, I asked if they could add cherry flavoring to make it a Cherry Coke and they do offer that. I didn't see any mention of this on their menu, so I'm glad I asked.
We got our order to go - which is an option. They don't have a drive-up window or anything. You must still order to go items after you've parked.
Finally, the location isn't the best and you need to be careful leaving the parking lot if you want to head toward Harrisburg. If you have a hard time pulling out onto 22/322, you can go west and take the exit for 11/15 South but loop around and immediately take the 22/322 East exit to avoid crossing multiple busy lanes of traffic. This is a quick...
Read moreIt's very 1950s. You find a parking spot turn on your four ways and the waitress will come take your order and then bring your food and hook a tray to your window and you eat in your car or there are a few tables. We all ordered the bunny burger with the french fries and Bunny dust. The burgers were very good the french fries had extremely way too much of the bunny dust seasoning. They were so salty that none of us were able to finish the fries ( there were 5 of us). At the end we ordered ice cream. My mom ordered the banana split and when the waitress handed it to my brother he pointed out a hair on top of the banana split. Now the waitress saw the hair because she is the one that pulled the hair out of the ice cream but when my brother looked at her she looked surprised and said "oh, did you want me to have it remade"? So we gave the obvious answer of yes. She returned maybe 3 minutes later with a melted banana split so we don't think they remade it at all. My brother ordered some sort of peanut marshmallow sundae which was supposed to have vanilla ice cream with peanuts on top with a marshmallow syrup but instead of the marshmallow syrup they brought him a regular fudge sundae with peanuts on top which are waitress did not offer to have fixed or remade. Our total bill was just about $88 for five people which isn't too hateful if we wouldn't have had to waste most of the french fries...
Read moreA step back in time to the 1960s. I've been visiting this place since i was 3 years old &for 31 years now its still as good as ever. The only negative is now you have to ask for a poppy seed roll and pay .35 more, but its the remembering thats the hard part. The bunny burger just doesn't taste the same on ses seed bun. The bunny fries are the best seasoned fries around sprinkled with "bunny dust", & extra dust is a must. There is just something about the fried chicken that leaves you wanting more. The crispness is a buzz to your sensations at the first bite, mixed the moistness of the chicken itself. Of course the mouth watering coleslaw completes the meal. Its a original unchanged step back in time from the time you pull in & they walk to your car to take your order, till the time they walk the tray to the car to hang the tray on your window. There are picinic tables for those who don't want to eat in their car or come on motorcycles. Since it is a step back in time its important to remember its CASH ONLY, the hours are are Friday-Sunday 12-10 and open most of the year. The months they are closed have been trimmed back to only the heart of winter so dont look to have a craving...
