I've recently come across this restaurant, never knowing it was close to my house, located close to the Seekonk/ Rehoboth line on route 44. They have such high quality food and service. That being said, the service was phenomenal with both Jim and Kim behind the bar. They could not do enough to make sure that we... My son and I had enough food enough drink. And by the way, the drinks are very well put together and you're going to get your share of alcohol and each drink be prepared for a strong pour. ie A powerful drink. I found the food which has a Portuguese flare to it, but there other different styles of food. I think they have many choices for fish and meat dishes, I saw the daily scrod I believe it's called the boat a special meal with has scallops and shrimp with Ritz cracker and butter on top . Very impressively large plate and inexpensive as well. I still can't believe how much food you get for the low cost! Many of the dishes cannot be finished and prepare to take home some food. They're baked stuff Lobster was phenomenal. My friend had the swordfish which she could not finish. It was almost as big as a plate and then you have the w side as well . The Portuguese cuisine is above par for most Portuguese restaurants. As a matter of fact, probably the best I've ever had in the most amount of food that I have seen again for the price. If you're in the area, I highly recommend going here with a family or a friend. The owner is from the old Joseph's restaurant which was an icon in East Providence for several years. He's had a couple of other ventures and now he is in Massachusetts. Have a great dining...
Read moreI heard so much about this place and decided to take my family. Tried it for the first time and unfortunately the last. Service was good, prices were good but all our meals were drowned in so much garlic. I love garlic but this was so overwhelming you couldn’t taste the food. The shrimp Mozambique had very little Sazon, didn’t taste Portuguese at all besides the garlic. Portuguese steaks had so much garlic drizzled over the fried potatoes and were greasy. The steak itself was excellent but had very little sauce, but broiled perfect, and the server got us extra sauce. My sons girlfriend got chicken with onions and mushrooms with cheese as we were confused about that too the way it was written on the menu as chicken parmigiana. The server asked what sauce but we were wondering why it would have the onions and mushrooms lol oddly written and confusing menu and she laughed about it when she got it and said it tasted like McDonald’s chicken nuggets. I got the baked stuffed shrimp that would of been halfway decent but they poured a scampi sauce over it and ruined it. I was also so confused by this meal because I got the seafood rice and don’t understand why it would come with that sauce. I could see if it was pasta I ordered but that made no sense til I got the meal and wished I knew it came that way because I would of said I’ll take it on the side. Portions were huge so I get why people like it but not one of the five of us were impressed :( I also don’t want anything with garlic for...
Read moreWe had selected a different place for dinner but it was packed so we decided to venture down the road and arrived here with the promise of comfort food. The place is rather small but it offers outdoor seating, the smell of seafood is predominant as soon you walk through the door, we decided to give it a shot and keep our one open. The menu is very large but most of the dishes come with some sort of seafood, this is a problem when in your party there is someone that’s allergic to it. There are some meat dishes but most of them include a side of seafood rice or seafood product so we ended up ordering teriyaki chicken wings, the veal and chicken Parmesan… the teriyaki sauce was more soy sauce with red crunch pepper flakes than and very runny, it definitely needed balance but the wings were crispy. The pasta was a little bland and the portion was rather small considering the portion of chicken and veal was twice the size but the meat was flavorful but the dish was supposed to have mushroom and we couldn’t find any. The sever was very friendly and kind and that made up for the rest of the experience, the place needs updating or at least fans, it was too hot and stuffy inside. If you love everything seafood or with seafood this is definitely your place but there were not many items in the menu that could be considered as...
