I have been struggling to find a bakery that I love in the attleboro and surrounding areas. Most cakes are either too dry, too sweet, or too expensive.
In an effort to love my birthday cake this year, I ordered a cake from Traditions. I couldn't decide between chai or cinnamon brown sugar cake....the woman I spoke to on the phone was great with her suggestions on filling and frosting.
We ended up going with a Cinnamon Brown Sugar cake, with apple filling, and salted caramel buttercream. It sounded decadent for sure, but I was excited to try it on Christmas.
She asked what my favorite color was, I said blue. But I also like beutral colors and to do what she wanted with it.
When it came time to taste the cake, I was SO elated at how spongey the cake was, how the filling wasn't overkill, and the buttercream wasn't too sweet ... it was just enough. And the layer wasn't really thick.
The cost of the cake was reasonable to other bakeries, but I almost think it was too inexpensive because the quality was just so superior.

Read moreTraditions Bakeshop is by far the best local bakery we have ever been to! We wouldn't even consider ourselves "dessert people", but we have a hard time staying away and now buying all the sweet treats we can carry! The seasonal desserts and platters that Kelly whips up are ingenious and, more importantly, delicious!
We even used Traditions Bakeshop for our wedding desserts — the cupcakes, cookies, and macarons we had were the topic of every conversation that night! Kelly is one of the best bakers in Southeastern Massachusetts. This is the only bakery whose desserts we actually dream of, especially the chocolate salted caramel cupcake and the blueberry lemon lavender cupcake. Not only were the desserts delicious, but Kelly did such a beautiful job assembling our dessert table and decorating our cake. We are so thankful for her & her staff and we already can’t wait to visit the shop for more delicious...
Read moreI stopped by this little bake shop on a whim, having passed it on my commute many times. I’m glad I did.
I got a fruit pastry and some other baked items. Let me tell you, this is the real deal. You can taste the real fruit in these pastries. Nothing is artificial. The pastry itself is delicate and tender. More importantly, everything here is fresh and baked in-house.
There’s nothing commercial or mass-produced about this place. This is what a bakery should aspire to be: simple, yet delicious. Baking, as it is with cooking, is a lot of little things done well and with love. Traditions Bakeshop does this beautifully.
If you’ve been to some other bakeries in the area and been disappointed, as I have, come here. Very impressed. The people here put love and hard work into their craft and it shows. I’ll surely be back...
