Edited: I had to edit this review based on the latest experience here. I've been waiting for several years to make it back because of my first very good experience. WOW was I ever disappointed this time. If this were my first time here a single star would have been too generous. Just like last time the food and atmosphere were exceptional. The service however was absolutely terrible. Our waitress forgot about us. After 20 minutes with no waters or any sign of our waitress I went in to find out what was taking so long. After that a member of the kitchen staff brought us drinks, but mine was not what I had ordered when we came in. We waited again and finally I went in again and found another waitress. She was very apologetic and wonderful. She got a manager who came out and apologized and told us he would take some off of our check for the inconvenience. Our waitress came out while we were talking to the manager and made up a story. When I pointed out her lie she back-pedaled, apologized and agreed to do better. She took our appetizer order at that point. The manager left and we waited again. Finally a kitchen member brought us the appetizer. After another very long wait the waitress came to take the main order. She proudly told us how she had a 14 top and they were her most important customers and she was going to get a big tip from such a large group. When I asked for the steak special she quickly replied with oh, you don't want that it's too expensive. Wait what? It's her job to upsell not talk the customer down to a cheaper product. After that each time she came out she reminded us that she got a 14 top and these people were really going to tip well because they were ordering a lot of drinks. Everytime she came out she told us how she couldn't get to us any sooner because her table of 14 needed drinks, refills, food, etc, etc.(keep in mind they came in about 40 minutes after we did.). Finally at nearly 2 hours our main came out again with a member of the kitchen staff. After 2 hours we asked the waitress for dessert and were told it would be better to go to the cowfe for ice cream and then she promptly forgot to bring us the bill. Over this entire fiasco other wait staff were periodically asking us if we were okay and even went and got our waitress for us each time. They were all wonderful to us as were all of the kitchen staff. Our waitress was horrible. Once she finally got the check out she informed us it took so long because she had to check out her table of 14 and how wonderful of customers they were. She got such great tips from them. I heard that 14 top story so many times I could have recited it in my sleep. In the end the manager did not give us anything off on the check, we had to find another waitress to pay(I hope that waitress kept the tip because she earned it far more than our waitress did.)and we got dessert at the cowfe. I will not be recommending this place until I try it at least once more to see which experience was the real deal. I regret recommending it in the past so highly. I've been making sure people know about this experience so they can make an educated decision on wether or not they want to risk such bad service. Again the food was exceptional, but service from our waitress was some of the worst I've experienced to date.
Original review: The best steak I have ever eaten in a restaurant. It was so delicious. My green beans were perfect and I enjoyed the potato as well. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger and really loved the fresh refrigerator pickles with it. We sat on the wrap around porch to eat and enjoyed the amazing views. Plus the porch is pet friendly! Prices and service are great and their fuzzy navel drink is just delicious too. I really didn't have any complaints. It was a...
Read moreFirst and last time. I booked an igloo for my husband and I for our 14th anniversary. Today we get a call and email that our reservation has been cancelled for weather. So we called back and they offered to move us indoors. Mind you there is no snow and it’s been this temperature for days. Nothing out of ordinary. Upon arrival we were less than politely greeted. One girl told another to take us to back. We were placed in the bar area, not even main dining area which was nearly empty. Literally only one table being used by the nice fire and one booth. We were placed in the smallest booth you have ever seen. We had to wait forever for the bartender to show back up to take drink orders. At no point did she offer specials, so I inquired about them for her to huff at me that they were avail after 4. Mind you it was now 4:13. She tried to rush and asked if we wanted to just order our meal instead of apps. She was rarely around when you needed her for things like drinks and boxes. And when she was around she was at back of bar eating with her hands then never washing them before touching other things like ice and drinks and food. Gross. My favorite view of the night was another waitress going out multiple time to serve what you may ask?? People in the igloo!!!! I was FURIOUS at this point. The bus boy kept taking trash out the side door blasting cold air into the bar, that was fun. To ice the cake our $250 meal came home mostly in boxes because it just plain was not that good. The rice pilaf was cold and gross with literally no flavor at all to be found. The bread was cold. Husbands porter house was not right. By the end of our meal 3 couples had been placed in bar overwhelming out already lost bartender. Again main area was not that full. They squeezed a couple into booth next to us and they eventually begged to move to a table they were so uncomfortable. She had to apologize to them and comp them dessert because she forgot to put their food in. Needless to say it was a very expensive and upsetting anniversary gone wrong. I have always heard such great things about the farmhouse and have wanted to dine in igloos forever. This was such a disappointment. We will not be back or vouching for the experience to our friends and family. I’m heartbroken to be honest. Our one special night out and this is...
Read moreIt was Mother's Day so as to be expected the restaurant was busy. We made a reservation for 6:15 we arrived around 6 and were asked to wait until closer to our reservation time to be seated. Once seated our server Lyric took our drink orders. About five minutes later brought complimentary bread. I chose this restaurant because last year my wife and came to celebrate the new year. We ate in a dome and had a great time so I thought for this Mother's day it would be good to bring my wife and boys. It didn't turn out that way to say the least. We sat at our table and waited and waited. After our drink order our server never checked on us to see how we were doing. We had to get her attention ourselves, to ask about our order. We sat there with our toddler over an hour. To our luck he was well behaved the food took so long that my wife had to resort to feeding him the complimentary bread. Like I said before we were sat at 6:15 we didn't get our food until 730-7:45 approximately. The macaroni and cheese and brussels sprouts were room temperature. You would think waiting that long everything would be hot. I arrived wanting dessert but when asked I declined because the food took so long to come, I only assumed the dessert would be the same. Also I needed to get home so I asked for the check the bill was $101.00 which was reasonable but I didn't believe the restaurant deserved a tip so I tipped eighteen percent the lowest recommended amount. When leaving no one said anything as we departed even though someone was at the front. I only mention that because while I waited to be seated until my reservation time others that were leaving were told to have a great day or something of the sort. It left me feeling as though they needed better customer service. I hope if I do decide to come back the...
