Frontier Bar & RV — Restaurant in Rexford

I've been to this place several times in the past. I've recommended the Frontier many times. Like I said this was in the past! The Atmosphere is gone! The new owners have changed it for the worst! I believe they are trying to cater to the Canadians. Most of the locals I've heard aren't coming in. I believe they are going to be hard pressed to survive thru the winter. I've always ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, which was bigger than the bun. When it was served I thought it was the regular hamburger my friend had ordered. When that hamburger was served It was equivalent to the $1 burger at McDonald's. Their speciality curly fries they have changed to an entrée. In doing so the price was jacked up high. Grilled Chicken sandwich, 1 hamburger, small coleslaw, 1 curly fry, two drinks that were not alcohol came to $56.00! Best I can say is it tasted good I was there at prime time and no locals. We are “local” but only go to The Frontier once a year. The drinks are good and prices are comparatively low. However I wouldn’t order food again. I say that every time and it may just be me because I have a sensitive pallet and the meat I had was gamey. I took a bite and then hubby took a bite and didn’t eat anymore of it. I let the waitress know (she didn’t offer anything else or apologize) the one time she came around after that and I believe she took it off the bill but didn’t see her until I went to the bar and had another waitress go find her. It was five on a Saturday and there looked like there was 3-4 waitresses but we were drinking, gambling and eating and maybe she was new but it was the first time in a decade I didn’t leave a tip. We came to this restaurant twice in one week since our first experience was horrible and we wanted to redeem the experience, but I would only recommend coming here if you want to sit and wait for an hour and not be acknowledged. We made reservations over the phone, but that was pointless. We sat and waited for 40 minutes before we left because no one made the effort to acknowledge us. They claimed they were short staffed, but there were multiple people behind the bar just standing around.
