The Other Place Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Rice Lake

Tonight I was very very disappointed. I love the OP especially on wing and whiskey night. Our experience was horrible tonight. I was on the fence about writing this review for I have never written one and I am also a server and i usually give the waitress the benefit of the doubt. We get there and waiting 15 minutes for our server (Mandy I believe ), we order food and drinks. We finish our drinks and our server never came to check on us. Our food took an hour ( which i get, it was busy. The food is always phenomenal) but we had to go to the bar for our next round of drinks. It was very obvious who the “regulars” are, they where checked on several times. Finally when we received our food we still never got a check in from our server. At this point we where upset and knew only the bar deserved our tip for making the drinks along with the food runner because our server never came along to do her job. Once we finished eating we had to go retrieve our togo boxes on our own. Our server finally took a glance at our tables after making eye contact with her numerous times and she brings our tabs over without saying a word. It kills me to write this review because The Other Place bar is amazing and we have had amazing service in the past. I truly don’t blame this on the cooks or bartenders or other servers. This was all “Mandy’s” doing. I hope next time we will enjoy ourselves better because we are a group that never ever complains but, this time we were counting down the...

Horrible customer service from one staff: the person who answered the phones today... Chrissy (I think).

When I attempted to order food for my family, we were on the phone two minutes when I explained I needed a second to find the name of what I was ordering for myself. We were almost done ordering when she said, "Really?!?!....(Scoffs) Come on man!!?" I asked if she was talking to me and she rudely replied,"Yaaa! I'm busy". Needless to say I cancelled my order and she was actually happy I did and said "great!". What's really disheartening is the fact my family heard her as I had her on speaker phone. There was a level of disrespect and disregard that I can't possibly overstate. I was not sassy or rude to her, so unsure what provoked her.

I called back a few seconds later and asked for the manager, Brandon. He seemed genuine and somewhat unsurprised. He offered a free meal, but I was much too taken back to accept especially if I had to meet Chrissy.

My family has eaten here a few times as we're always looking for ways to give local restaurants business. Usually I give chances, but not this time. I would avoid this establishment until...

To begin our reservation for 8 was screwed up so we were seated in the back area of the building (bar, dance floor) all alone and in the dark. 2cd the chairs were ALL cut up and the stuffing coming out .. every chair had many rips and cut's (buy new/used chairs for christ sake, what do they cost 20 apiece used? drop 2 or 300 to make a Huge 1st impression). 3rd We waited 20 minutes for our waitress to show up(she wasn't aware we were back there) and she took our drink requests, 10 minutes later another waitress came for our orders but the drink waitress still hadn't come and then NO waitress came for another 20 minutes at which time the girls went to the bar 30ft away and got their own drinks. of course 5 minutes later the waitres showed up with the coffee's and apologised for forgetting the drinks(bloody mary's). 20 minutes later the food came and the Bacon Omlette was a very thin egg wrapped around a pile of what appeared to be Bacon Bits from a jar(the recipient did say she thought it was real bacon chopped up in way to smallpieces) .. the rest of the food was about a 4 on a 10 scale.
