The building is very nice on the inside. The outside doesnt look like much from the road, the parking lot was gravel, I assume they will be putting in a parking lot but cant be sure. I ordered the 8 oz. sirloin special it had a good medley of steamed veggies, taste was a little different, but decent. The sirloin was very good, texture was great. I needed a little A1 sauce. But overall was rather tasety. The salad bar was horrible. Shredded lettuce, I liked how they had their dressing in pourable containers though, I think the pricing is a little high. They were just changeing over to new menus, so the waitress did not really know to much about the specials, both the waitresses were super polite and very attentive to our needs. There was an issue with some things said in the kitchen and I made my thoughts known to them. A gentleman came out and sincerely apologized for the issue. They also offered my wife a free cheesecake on the house. The place was very clean and looked newly remodeled in the bathroom. I think the prices are again a little too high, but I will go back again and see if things have gotten better on the new menu. God bless. Thank you...
Read moreI ate here once a few years back: the food wasn't very good. I also attended a graduation party with hamburgers catered by this place: it wasn't too bad, pretty much an average, decent hamburger. There is a salad bar, so you really can't go wrong there. I'd be willing to give it another try if I'm forced to eat in Riceville again, but there are certainly better options within a 20-30 minute drive. The waitress was okay if I remember correctly, but I wouldn't call that a positive or a negative of this establishment, though they have had a few sketchy employees in the past. When I was there, they had a nice and interesting variety of different foods, though the quality wasn't great. Overall, the restaurant is way over-glorified, and many people around the town either have bad taste, or they are...
Read moreWe recently visited and while the food was decent, the service was disappointing. When I asked what kind of soda was available, our server wasn’t sure and mentioned she was new—which I understand—but instead of asking someone, she just stared at me. She also seemed unsure about what items were on the menu.
When the bill arrived, I noticed a $2 charge for an extra soda. I asked about it and was told they charge for refills, but the menu clearly stated the first refill is free. When I pointed this out, the server responded with a smirk rather than an apology or any effort to correct the mistake.
It’s not about the $2—it’s about the overall experience. Staff should be trained and prepared to provide basic customer service. Unfortunately, this visit missed the mark in...
