Whitey’s Booze n’ Burgers is an American diner with a modern twist. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by a lively atmosphere filled with upbeat music and the aroma of freshly grilled burgers that instantly whets your appetite.
The menu offers an impressive variety of burgers, ranging from traditional beef patties to unique options like black bean and chicken. I tried the signature Whitey’s burger, which was cooked to perfection. The juicy patty was topped with a delicious blend of cheese, crispy bacon, and fresh veggies, all nestled between a perfectly toasted bun. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavor!
Another must-try item on their menu is the famous chili. It's rich, hearty, and packed with flavor, making it the perfect accompaniment to any meal or a satisfying dish on its own. Whether you enjoy it as a side or as a standalone bowl, the chili showcases the kitchen's dedication to quality and taste.
What sets Whitey’s apart is their extensive selection of craft beers and cocktails. The drink menu complements the food perfectly, offering creative pairings that enhance the overall dining experience. The bartenders are knowledgeable and happy to recommend drinks based on your preferences.
One of the standout features of Whitey’s Booze n’ Burgers is the full sand volleyball court in the back. It’s a fantastic addition that not only provides a fun way to work off those burgers but also creates a vibrant, social atmosphere. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just looking to have some casual fun with friends, the court is a perfect place to hang out and enjoy the sun.
The service at Whitey’s Booze n’ Burgers was exceptional. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure our dining experience was top-notch. Even during peak hours, they managed to keep the atmosphere enjoyable without making us feel rushed.
For those looking for a casual hangout spot, Whitey’s has plenty of seating, including cozy booths and an outdoor patio perfect for sunny days. They also host various events, adding to the vibrant community feel.
In summary, Whitey’s Booze n’ Burgers combines delicious food, including their famous chili, a great selection of beverages, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it a must-visit. Read moreI started going here in the mid-60's when it was just a bar and a pool table and the locals called it "Maggie's", after Whitey's wife. I moved away and after a long absence, I took my son there for lunch - his first time after hearing about it all his life. Once we got past the gang of smokers and make-believe "bikers" huddled right next to the door, we waited. And wait some more. Eventually a supremely bored server took us to a table and we both (on my suggestion) ordered the "Maggie" burger. {Back in the day, it was big, fresh, juicy and delicious...hot off the grill and loaded with grilled mushrooms and onions.} When our food finally came to the table, the burger was cartoonishly big...never a good sign. The "beef" was room temperature with all the flavor of candle wax and completely buried in cold, canned mushrooms. The fries were cold. More than anything, I was embarrassed and I apologized to my son.
This is a place that has been living on it's past glory for a long time. As far as I am concerned, they've squandered their reputation by choosing hype over quality. Their food is third-rate, as is their service. The Coliseum is long gone and so is any reason to eat at Whitey's.
I'm sure Maggie and Whitey would be ashamed of the way their old place is being run and embarrassed by the crap coming out of...
Read moreVery loud and packed, felt like I was sitting at the bar even though at table., but not a big deal. No fountain drinks, you get 12oz cans which reminds me of a chinese takeout place. The small cups with cans really annoyed me, your drink will be empty by the time you get your meal and you have to order multiple cans to finish a burger. Dunno why they can't buy a fountain with such a large place, really just seems cheap and lazy.
Their chili platter is a rip off, you get a little side cup of chili and a massive basket of chips, you'll definitely have left over chips with the tiny amount of chili you get. Chili was good though.
Burger was alright, wasn't great or bad not even really worth mentioning. Meat was way underseasoned, all the condiments and extra crap they shove on the burger is doing the work. B-spot is much tastier and has way better service not to mention more reasonably priced. I expected with all the extra annoyances you had to deal with to eat here the food would make up for but it left me with a meh. I didn't finish the burger even though I was still hungry.
As another reviewer said "food was bland and WAY overpriced." Place would be decent if they brought their prices down, they are charging an arm and a leg for a poor experience, they con you into thinking an expensive menu will...
