Mellem's Fish House — Restaurant in Richland Center

We ordered Cajun and beer battered shrimp basket. The shrimp came out 2 with the potatoes which was has browns, and it was barely warm and shrimp was rubbery and really greasey. Then the other 3 shrimp came out steaming hot but dripping in grease and rubbery. I took off the batter and the shrimp was super small, thought it was too be jumbo... Cajun was also really greased, the flavor was over taken by the grease. We didn't even wait for our bill to come, our stomachs were not feeling well and turning. We went up to the counter and paid. I'm not big on writing reviews that point out the negatives, but Sarah and I almost didn't enter this facility.

The food was ok, but nothing special, and not as good as Sarah cooks at home. The service was simple, average, and adequate by the owner.

The air conditioner directly to our left above our table had a filthy filter that almost caused us to not order. We asked that it not be turned on because of it's looks.

I'm sure this facility and the family are struggling...

Love eating here wish they were open more then just the weekends but when we have the opportunity to get there we do best fish around and they also have super incredible ribs as well!!
