Taste of China — Restaurant in Richmond Heights

This is the best little Chinese spot in the area without a doubt. Ive tried many Chinese take-out places and have come to accept that most of them sell the same low quality food. This place was a big surprise and I mean that in a great way. The first dish I ordered from there was the best version I had ever had. Still skeptical, I tried ordering other various dishes and have been very pleased with each one.

Not only is the quality of the food great, they are always very nice, the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. They also make it a point to package your order better than any other place I have been to. They put a lot of effort into making sure your food will be just as good after a twenty minute drive as it would be if you ate it on the spot. All the sauces on the fried items are on the side so you dont end up with soggy food:)

If you have a craving for some great Chinese food, do yourself a favor and get to this spot, you wont be...

I usually have good things to say about taste China. Today not so much. Placed an order for STEAMED Chinese vegetables and tofu. Got home and it was fried everything dripping in sauce.

Took it back and complained that we had ordered steamed. They said that that’s the way it comes but their regular menu can’t possibly have a steamed entree. It was from the diet menu that I wanted my food to come from.

Got the second order home and it was mostly tofu and broccoli. Very FEW Chinese vegetables. Was this their way of getting me back for returning the order they messed up?

Also we ordered yum yum sauce and it wasn’t in my first haul. I mentioned when I went to get my corrected order and they said I didn’t order it. I had them check their receipt and if I had not done that I would have paid for that tiny cup twice!

There are other places I can go! And I have been loyal to them but now I’m looking for a new go-to Chinese...

Ordered takeout and went to pick it up. Only in the location briefly to pick up our order. Easy enough, in and out.

Their menu was a little hard to find online before ordering, but from some photos of the menu, we figured it out.

I got chicken and broccoli combo meal/dinner and my wife got the chicken lo mein combo meal/dinner. Plus an order of crab Rangoon. Both meals were tasty enough. I thought the crab Rangoon was a little heavy on scallions, but okay. Egg rolls were good too.

Order total was about $27.

We passed another place on our way there, as they were closed on Tuesdays, so for convenience we might go there next time rather than coming back here, but that's not about the food, just the distance from our house. We'll probably go back, but want to try other...
