I stumbled across Tacos El Charro and was completely blown away — this place is a hidden gem tucked inside a gas station, and it’s hands down my new go-to spot for tacos. The owner, originally from California, brings that authentic West Coast flavor and passion to every dish. Even though they’ve only been open for eight months, they’ve already won an award from the Richmond Hill food scene — and it’s easy to see why. The customer service? Off the charts. Super friendly, welcoming vibes as soon as you walk in. You can tell they genuinely care about the food and the people. Everything is made fresh — you can taste the difference in every bite. I ordered the birria tacos, and they were next level. Juicy, flavorful, perfectly crisped — easily some of the best I’ve had anywhere. What really made it stand out, though, was the conversation and energy. I felt like I was talking with family. This isn’t just a taco spot — it’s a whole experience. I full-heartedly support this place and highly recommend anyone in the area check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

For some hole in the wall in a gas station this place makes pretty good Mexican food. The birria tacos were great. It had plenty of meat and cheese inside and you get a cup of onions, tomato's, cilantro on the side. The consome sauce was also great. For the price it's more than fair. I been to other spots that charge more and are less meat/cheese packed than what is given here. Burrito Pic has a marker for scale. Not a big burrito for the price but tasted pretty good. Pic of the eat part kind of shows what the burrito is like on the bottom clearly not cheaped out and packed the tortilla. The two sauces the orange one was spicy I like it a lot. Green sauce not a fan just some mild sauce.

Like many in town, me and friends stumbled on the place, and wow what a stumble! I’ve tried restaurant (some authentic) Mexican many times and just didn’t like it (but did like homemade dishes prepared by friends/family). However, this place won me over. The food is fresh and flavorful, also filling! In addition to stopping by for lunch, I’ve told several people about this place and they too have had great experiences. I’m pretty simple when it comes to my tacos — I ordered beef tacos with cilantro and onions with a side of pico and sauce. So so good!!

So tasty!!! So much flavor. Me and my bf always get the beef burrito but today I also got the tostada (recommend by the owner I believe) who is also super sweet!!!! It was AMAZING. I’ve never had a tostada so that’s going to be my new order and with the burrito :) so much flavor in both and we always say ā€œso dangerous for it to be right across the streetā€ because we will get this a lot 🤣 I will also say, there’s not many good Mexican spots AT ALL in Richmond hill (jalepenos) and others that people brag about are SO MEDIOCRE. I am from Atlanta and been living here for 2 years, go here to get some good authentic Mexican food if you are close by. The other places will never match this flavor or fresh ingredients (all 3 times it has never made my stomach hurt) like most Mexican spots too. Highly...
