Stone Corral Brewery — Restaurant in Richmond

Last night my husband and I celebrated our 16th Anniversary! We chose the perfect place and setting. We even got up and danced, your music selection is spot on for your restaurant. Our server Aaron was so nice, we loved his positive energy, so down to earth and a bit funny, you can tell that he loves his job. He told us he has been there for about two years loves it. We can’t wait to come back!! The food was amazing!! We started off with the sweet potato wedges and the butternut squash soup, my husband said it was the best soup he has had and he even posted it on FB in the To Go Tour page. I had the The Pickleback Pig sandwich and he had the Buffalo Bacon Boo-Yah Nachos. Our food palette’s were in absolute heaven!! Everything was so delicious. We are so fortunate to live in such a small community where we felt like we had been visiting your restaurant for years so thank you for making us feel at home and it made our anniversary perfect. Wow! Worst experience at a restaurant in a long, long time. The service was horrendous. My husband and I asked for an outside table and were told they could seat us, but we would have to be done in 1.5 hours for a reservation. No problem, we said, since we were famished and tired. We ordered drinks, an app, and dinner all at once. The drinks came quickly, which was great, and the app came out about 10 minutes later. Then, the entrees came out 2 minutes after the app, which we had barely taken 2 bites of, and we could barely fit all the plates on the table. Ok, we were going with the flow, but quickly after, the server was trying to take our plates before we even looked close to done, and I felt rushed the whole meal. At just over an hour, my husband went in to buy some beer to go and pay our tab. I stayed at the table finishing up my salad, and he overheard the waitstaff asking if I would ever leave. We were well ahead of the 1.5-hour time frame we had been given. If you don't want to interrupt a reservation, then don't sit the table! Well, unfortunately, we won't be going back anytime soon. Been to the Stone Corral several times and have had a terrific experience on most occasions. Great selection of AMAZING beers, good food, excellent service, friendly staff who obviously enjoy being there. The only criticism I have; I was in there one time having a delightful time catching up with friends I had not seen in years. Then some guys gets up there on the little stage and plugs in a guitar and amplifier and starts playing and singing so LOUD that I could not hear my friends talking or myself thinking. Granted that part is more about the musician than the SC but they should prevent amplified loud/music there as it is a relatively small place. I know that some people can't stand to be without loud music because they can't stand the sound of their own thoughts. These people should embrace the headphone technology and leave the rest of us to enjoy conversation in great places like the Stone Corral. Loud music can be enjoyed in the privacy of one's home, please don't thrust it on those of us paying our hard earned for conversation and quality food and drink. It is a Brewery & Tap Room not a...
