Wife and I were excited to give Triple Crossing a try and visited on a Saturday at about 1 o'clock. Walked in to a long line and hopped in. Didn't take too long maybe 15 minutes, got to the lady at the bar and said we'd like to sit for lunch and a drink were told "that's first come first serve" which means we waited in line for no reason at all. Some advice to the owner would be make that a little more clear. But no big issue, all the seats were full until that exact moment when two tables opened up. Ordered two pizzas (White and Hot Sausage) and two Demon Days Red Ale. You have to start a tab if you are eating or drinking and all the servers are at your beck and call there are no waiters or waitresses in the traditional sense. Drinks came out immediately and were very refreshing and full of flavor, solid notes of hops. Our pizzas came moments later with a pile of napkins. No plates. Didn't matter we were hungry and figured if they didn't care that food got all over their tables neither did we. We unfolded a couple napkins and dug in. Both were excellent thin crust pizzas and I loved the leoparding on the pizza (burnt bits). The white pizza was my favorite and both were dispatched with haste. As a sweet after meal drink we ordered two Black Dolphin with Coconut Stouts, holy crap were those good. Immediately purchased a 4 pack of the Black Dolphin. Just got done sharing a few with some friends while playing board games. All agreed it is an excellent stout. Very sweet almost chocolate like and extremely smooth. But watch out this dolphins got teeth weighing in at a 10% alcohol level. All in all a great experience, would be a 5 if the restaurant side of things was a little more clearly laid out. Fully...
Read moreCute place, nice casual atmosphere. There's an outdoor area, too. Loads of beer options, especially if you're a hoppy or IPA person. Me? I'm not a hoppy or IPA person and was still pleased with the few choices I saw - three were three that caught my eye. I sampled all three and settled on their Pilsner, which was quite tasty. However, I did feel that the beer wasn't properly chilled. I don't know if it sat on the counter too long or if it's a temperature setting issue. But the beer was tasty. The pizza was good. Likely not a place I'd take my husband because he only eats pepperoni or sausage pizza and just plain pepperoni or sausage didn't seem to be an option on the menu. I'm sure it's something that the can do, it's just not indicated on the menu (not even a 'create your own' option). There wasn't a lot of sound baffling, so I imagine it gets loud there on busy nights. I realize some people enjoy that, but it's a total turn off for me. If I go with people I want to carry on a conversation, not compete for their ears by yelling at them across the table. Location was convenient for me, as it was right down the street from where I was staying. I'm sure it's a great place to meet up with friends. Thanks for...
Read moreWe order draft beer and pizza. My beer was 16 oz. My companion ordered 10 oz different beer. My beer came as 10 oz. After mine came we were told the other beer (draft) only came as 16 oz. I told waiter my beer size was wrong. He didn't want to change it and only explained why the other beer only came as 16 oz by saying 'pouring system.' He offered a complimentary 4 oz of my beer to make up for mistake. Not really what I wanted since 16 oz is only $1 more than 10 oz cost. They charge $3.50 for 4 oz size so it makes more sense to buy 16 oz. Not wanting to make a big deal of it, I accepted his offer. We also accepted the other beer at larger size even though she only wanted 10 oz (hey ... a little more for me). Pizza came, cheese with pepperoni and sausage. Tasty but so much cheese in the center the dough was soggy. Could not eat it without a fork. I had to get up and get the forks myself. I then had to ask the waiter about the complimentary 4 oz of my beer for the mistate. He said 'I didn't think you wanted it.' I don't know how he got that idea. I went there specifically for that beer, 'Under the Thames' and to try the pizza. I really like that beer, wasn't crazy about the pizza or...
