UNLESS YOU HAVE A GUN TO PROTECT YOURSELF WITH I WOULD NOT GO HERE , IN CASE YOU OFEND THE BARTENDER . HE WAS TELLING CUSTOMERS WHERE I LIVE AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE
This has to be the most traumatic experience I have had in a bar.
The bartender told me I was going to get a a discount for being a local…. 5 canned beers came out to to almost $50……… I told him no after I realize how expensive it was going to be …. He then explained he forgot to give me the discount …. He told me he would give me 25% off ….. then said 15% …. But after that , I was good . I explained it wasn’t because of the high price but the changing of discounts after my card had already been rang.
I tried to respectfully leave and try to black out this awkward moment, but it quickly became traumatic after the bartender started telling customers I don’t know where I live and work because he was angry at me for not buying the beer .
I could hear the bartender complaining about me………..my car was parked across the parking lot. I could still hear him . Anyone else in the parking lot could hear him YELLING about where I live (my actual address, not neighborhood) and where I work , and didn’t know the back story . I’m afraid people thought I actually did something and I might have repercussions because of this.
I went back and asked for a manager .
She was rude and dismissive. She told me I was rude to him so I am the problem …… I’m the problem?!? Forget the discount, you have a middle aged man advertising where someone lives, and works to try to harm them. You were telling people where I live and work too hard me and that is not OK.
EXCUSE ME , I did nothing wrong, your bartender is telling random customers and people where I live .. after I leave the bar and can hear it from my car . …. NOT A SAFE PLACE TO VISIT . Male, female, UNLESS YOU HAVE A GUN TO PROTECT YOURSELF WITH I WOULD NOT GO HERE , IN CASE YOU OFEND THE BARTENDER AND HE TELLS EVERYONE WHERE YOU LIVE TOO!!!I don’t care . Just because you forgot to give me a discount and I didn’t want your alcohol , doesn’t me you can tell people where I live !!!!!!! What the actual F is wrong where you think that’s okay!?!??
It’s all on camera . As someone that had been assaulted in the past , I don’t feel safe coming to a business that will tell CUSTOMERS where I live and work.
I could hear it from my car , across the parking lot, giving people personal information about me because I was wouldn’t buy beer from you? How is that a...
Read moreOut in the middle of nowhere, you'd think this place would just take it easy and say "Be happy with what you can get in Death Valley." But no, these people actually run a damn good restaurant that, if I lived near CA, I would regularly drive all the way down there. Portions were generous, food was delicious and I have never seen a more unique beer selection. Dear Dwight, you have no right to run such amazing offerings out in the middle of nowhere! I didn't even get a chance to try the canned beer selection, my wife and I opted for the local drafts they had on tap, a crisp pilsner and a delicious blonde beer; these people know what they're doing!
My wife and I stayed a couple nights at the Panamint Springs Resort and were lucky enough to enjoy 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners here; on our last day we made a Mad Max sprint across the desert to get there in time to get an order in.
Check out their specialties, I was never disappointed: Dinner 1: The Beast Burger - a blended meat burger including boar and elk, patty had just a gentle touch of game. Added some fries and the Mac n' Cheese which was awesome. Breakfast 1: Country Benedict - biscuits, white pepper gravy, scrambled eggs and bacon got my morning started right (maybe would try it with sausage next time). Dinner 2: Steak Stinger - nice hearty bite, melty cheese, filled me up after a long day Breakfast 2: French Toast Combo, eggs, sausage, potatoes. Made it hard to say goodbye to the place! Wife loved the Avocado Toast,.she said great texture and good quality bread. Also did the Santa Fe as a chicken sandwich; they were accommodating and the meal was delicious. Sides: Pretzel Knots were crisp and came with a honey mustard sauce. Knots were crunchy and sauce had right balance of vinegar and sweet. Fried Green Beans - order that. Put them in your mouth. End of transmission. Their fries and tater tots, perfectly crunchy.
Dwight made some solid Irish coffees that served as excellent digestifs and nightcaps for me (still blows me away about the quality of dining I was having IN DEATH VALLEY lol)
Last thing to say about the place, service was top notch. Dwight was server both evenings and a very pleasant young woman worked the mornings. Both were always patient, welcoming and helpful with the menu. Like I said before, for an area so limited in options, this place held nothing back. We will definitely be back and if you're planning a trip to DV, make some time to check this place out; you'll be...
Read moreI visited this place back in 2018 and was really impressed with the food, service, and ambiance at that time. After seven years, my boyfriend and I made a point to visit again at the end of November, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience.
There was only one person working in the entire restaurant, and he was running back and forth trying to manage everything. I do appreciate that he was friendly and polite despite being overwhelmed — thank you for that.
We ordered two burgers, and I got a glass of wine. Sadly, the wine was served in a glass that looked very dirty, with water stains and residue, as if it hadn’t been used or cleaned properly in a long time. The wine itself tasted like it came from a very old, open bottle — I couldn’t even drink it. The coffee we ordered wasn’t good either.
It’s sad to see how much things have changed since my first visit. All the charm from 2018 seems to be gone. Maybe it’s because of the pandemic or staffing issues, but it left me feeling frustrated. We drove all the way from Las Vegas through Death Valley just to visit this place again because of the wonderful memories I had from before. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to those memories this...
