Chen's Express — Restaurant in Rifle

I was really excited to find this place because it reminds me of Panda Express & thought it would be better, but unfortunately my meal and service was horrible. The lady was rude and impatient although there was no one at all in the place. The beef and broccoli was horrible, Woww. The meat was so hard to chew and swallow, it looks like it was rushed, the broccoli was hard, it’s like they don’t even give it time to cook and marinade properly. The meat was very thick and not tender at all, it was disgusting and it had some type of breading in between the pieces, it’s like the pieces were closed together with breading and it made the pieces extra thick, but very chewy and hard. Will never eat here again. The rice is nasty and hard, the egg pieces were thin and dry, the flavor of the sauce is so different from other beef and broccoli I tried. It was my birthday dinner and I was highly disappointed. Only gave 1 star...

My new review on 7/13/25- My review has changed. The staff is still great and I probably won't go back again. They changed container's and now you get 1/2 the portion for the same price. I had leftover's my 1st visit , now it's substantially smaller. The coupon changed also and no it made it double worse & double isn't worth it. Sorry Chen's , great people working but seems we are now being duped. It's now a 2 ⭐⭐ 1st photo was 2 months ago , 2nd photo was yesterday. Huge difference 😐

Such a cute little place. There are 3 meal size options to choose from and very affordable, especially with the amount of food you receive. We really wanted to get a idea of the food, so we got the basil chicken, broccoli chicken, Mongolian beef, orange chicken and chicken lomein with the fried rice. WOW it was all absolutely delicious. I will say the fried rice is my favorite, only because it actually had egg, carrots and peas in it (seems pretty rare to find) and the seasoning was flavorful. Everything was well seasoned and just down right delicious! Such a great addition to Rifle! The staff was great and pleasant. We will certainly be back soon. Oh and they have an area to play...
